The new mbp is going to price me out! I’ll hang onto my intel dinosaur till it quits! then It will be iPad Air only for me!
I believe the “Pro” moniker will stay to identify the top tier in each product line (AirPod pro; iPhone Pro; iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, etc). Confusing could arise with the rumored “light” Mac Pro, which imho could/should be named Mac Mini Pro.I dont think we will see an iMac Pro it was made for a temporary period unless they start calling the higher end iMacs "iMac Pro" . Plus it will be confusing naming between iMac Pro and Mac Pro

I would agree. Apple is better than most at build quality, but certainly not perfect. It's actually a little more painful when it happens since we're paying the premium Apple price tag, and still believing the "it just works" mantra.I understand your point, and I have met people on the unlucky side that have had their machines fail, however I could confidently say that Apple QC is > than Dell QC, for example. I have had two Dell laptops and both have failed horribly, and of different diseases. I also think that Apple is a little more inclined to open these repair programs once bad publicity arises... They will try to sell you a Care package though.
Personally I judge quality by the way a brand steps up to support you when a fault happens. So far Apple has met my high price=high expectations, afaik for US customers it’s even better.I would agree. Apple is better than most at build quality, but certainly not perfect. Speed isn’t everything! My MBP can do much more!isn't the current MacBook Air faster than your current MBP?
But the next iPad Air will probably have the m1 and a usb c lighting port which is all I will need out of a computer!the M2 Macbook Air looks to be right laptop for u then, when it comes out next year

price, touchID, wait and see what Apple does to differentiate software (maybe give m1 equipped iPads more of a general computing usage?) at which point the new air might be newerUSB-C and M1 is already in iPad Pro and MBA , so why wait?
