One this I like about Apple is their commitment with quality. I hate all the unnecessary limitations they put on their software but I have never so far experienced hardware quality issues, my iPod is over 7 years old now and still works like a charm. Many of my old devices are inherited by my parents and they still work perfect, I just had to change the battery.
Folks with multiple logic board solder failures on late 90's MBP's, failed macbook keyboards, delaminating retina displays, battery recalls, and whirrring fans on 2020 MBP's might say otherwise. ;)

Can't wait to read the critiques later this fall.
Well , if its the MacRumors typical critique/hater , it will range from "OMG look at those prices!! Apple has completely lost it" and the new immortal rant "But can it run bootcamp?" when they know that everyone knows it wont, or the old classic "It doesnt even have a <Insert some legacy port that is not on the computer> , apple doesnt care about pros".

I hope we might get some nice discussions about the actual tech and redesign , by i fear that it will be like a drizzle, not unlike the iMac release which was full of such negativity i rarely see in a Boxing forum , ppl posting about "non manly" iMacs and girly colors and all sorts of travesties , either way going to be fun when it does gets released.

i'm a bit miffed that an HDMI port would make a return, i feel like it's unnecessary as usb-c to hdmi cables are not hard to get a hold of at decent prices.

an XDR mini led 120hz display on a 16" MBP though...jesus the thought of that crisp dolby vision on a 16" MBP and new speakers that support atmos would be so delicious.

That's it. This is what I am talking about. These are the type of renders that result on people being extremely disappointed when the real thing gets revealed (just like with the new iMacs). You can quote me on this in the next few months, it will look nothing like this.
I hope not. That screen rounding is wasteful.

Return of MagSafe and SD card will be good along with the new display
Well if that's what you want but I don't agree with it. SD cards are becoming less relevant with professional cameras. As a person who uses them more newer cameras come with XQD and C-Fast cards as well leading me to use an external card reader anyway. Don't see the point of Magsafe when you can charge through USB-C.

Yeah, I've had some great hardware and some that failed... mass production pretty much guarantees it, unfortunately.

Haha... yeah, the MR response to the iMacs was embarrassing... I just had to ignore it. I'm not in love with the redesign, but I think I get what they're going for... and I do think they'll be releasing an iMac Pro to smooth out the product line/transition. If not, then I'm curious what will happen for the lower-level "pro" desktop situation. The Mac Pro is far too expensive for indy/non-corporate pro creators.

EDIT: Unless, of course, the idea is that they'll use Mac Minis, but that doesn't quite seem like a solution, to me (though I'm not exactly sure why, I suppose).

I understand your point, and I have met people on the unlucky side that have had their machines fail, however I could confidently say that Apple QC is > than Dell QC, for example. I have had two Dell laptops and both have failed horribly, and of different diseases. I also think that Apple is a little more inclined to open these repair programs once bad publicity arises... They will try to sell you a Care package though.

I sure remember that quality keyboard I had replaced 3 times... they make mind numbingly stupid limitations on their hardware too, like.... we don't have a need for it, but make it 0.5mm thinner, cut whatever you need to make it happen

Lol… Good one. I think this is more likely to be the MacBook Air redesign (albeit fewer ports and a camera cutout. It’s clear Apple go for colourful in their lower end, and silver/space grey/black in their pro end.
I agree. They are making a clearer distinction between the product lines, which is great in my opinion.
Too many people I see were buying the wrong computers and the M1 is great for a lot of users.

These next MBP are going to be truly great computers. I am more than happy with the current TB connections, and dont care for magsafe either. Also the touchbar should just be optional, to make everyone happy.

All I want to see in the pro laptops is a super fast, quiet and cool CPU with a GPU that is the equivalent to a 2080. The latter may be a push, but imagine something like this in a 14 inch body. And it could happen!

Will Apple make 24" 4.5K iMac Pro with miniLED? That would be the one I'll buy (I'm guessing 27"+ mimiLED screen is out of question at the moment).

I hope it doesn’t. Where does the camera go? And I doubt if the screen is going to be rounded. But yes. These renders (when they’re actually good) raise expectations and the real thing can turn out to be a let down, such as the M1 iMac.
