Everyone keeps saying this. I don't know if it's blind fanboying or I'm in some kind of minority which simply cannot get videos to play full screen using the web on an iPad.

Unless the browser supports fullscreen, which safari doesn't on the iPad, it won't be complete fullscreen.

It will never be as good as a dedicated app.

I beg to differ, if you're jailbroken, search up ProTube.

I cannot find a single way the default YouTube app is superior to ProTube, and all it really does is properly display m.youtube.com

That app didn't work for me

Every video gives me an error "YouTube has restricted the feeds for this video"

This is so annoying...my pad lost some major functionality with this upgrade, might be time to sell it and get a ****** android tab

Thanks for the hot tip. Great YouTube app.
I finally updated my iPad just to try that Jasmine app out and I gotta say, its better than the Apple Youtube app by far.

It only needs 2 things to make it perfect.

1) Autoplay when selecting a video

2) Playing a video in a window instead of fullscreen all the time.

Amazing first try at an app though. That dev is a real talent. I'll even buy that app when he adds those 2 things just to reward him.

The dev acknowledged some of the issues it is having and he is working on it. Give him some time. The app only came out yesterday.

why do people encourage redundancy? I see this all the time with multiple apps.

why use a YouTube app when you can do the same thing from safari?

I often comment that macrumors posters seem to struggle with the notion that different people like different things! Just because person x is happy using youtube from safari doesn't mean that person y is. Some people like accessing content via apps. For some, that's what the iPhone is all about!

What some call redundancy, I would call choice.

There's an announcement right there in the app that says if you get that error, just uninstall and reinstall the app.

yes..noticed after i came on here and whined like a baby about it

thanks.

Sure thing. There's lots of kids that love playing Youtube on their iPad so this is a real necessity for a lot of parents out there.

Raises hand!!! My six year old absolutely loves playing with youtube on my iPad. Glad I ran across this thread with that app. I would have had a very very unhappy little girl on my hands.

I really liked the native app for Youtube on the iPad, I don't see why anyone would have preferred the mobile site over it.

Gutted its gone.

This app is garbage. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times now and it still won't play a single video. Complete trash.

Funny how people can declare something as garbage when they are the only one's having problems with it. Why don't you describe the problems you're having and let the people here at least attempt to help you? It's working fine on my iPad and I assume most others here.

"YouTube has restricted the feeds..." Please, genius, help me more than telling me to uninstall and reinstall because I've done that over and over again.

Then start by doing as I asked, describe the problems you're having as much as possible. "This is app is trash" or just "it won't play videos" just isn't helpful in trying to diagnose the problem.

I just did. Holy crap. I get that same ****ing error message every time I try to play a video. The same on my iPhone 5
