His production value is top-tier, but the actual content feels safe to the point of being bland. I'm watching a review to understand what someone thinks, not just what a product is or does. When every take is carefully hedged and every opinion is middle-of-the-road, it starts feeling more like polished marketing material than genuine critique. I want reviewers who'll actually have, vocalize and explain an opinion, even if I disagree with it.
It's funny you say that, because I feel that's exactly what he's good at, expressing what he thinks about the philosophy behind a product and why it should or shouldn't exist, instead of just going over the spec list. Many of the other independent tech reviewers on YT tend to fall into the latter camp.

I have no connection to this video, but thought it was funny and applicable. :)

I have watched MBKHD for a long time now. I like how professional his videos are - he doesn't shake the camera or zoom in and zoom out constantly with annoying music, and he doesn't yell at us using influencer speak...

The panels app seemed to go against what I thought MBKHD stood for - the guy obviously makes a lot of money - his video about his house setup (solar, etc), cars, and what not. He's allowed to do what he wants. Interesting some of the tech and cars he's pushing recently...

Just my opinion but YouTube has really gone downhill in the last few years. Having watching too many iPhone 17 Pro/Air/Pro Max videos has really shown me how bad most of these "influencers" are.
