I don't think the Phils have a strong enough pen to beat the Dodgers.

the phillies sucked yesterday, the dodgers where all over them till the 5th inning!!!!! and kershaw.....messed up........:(:(:(

c'mon the guy was the youngest pitcher to ever start in a NLCS..... you wouldn't expect him to get better....

i felt the game was not a one sided lopped game....

tonight we will win......

i just gotta feeling...

Doesn't matter if he's the youngest pitcher to ever start an NLCS or not. What kind of idiot throws 3 wild pitches in an inning and what kind of idiot manager keeps him in there? The Phillies played better than the Dodgers. Simple as that.

I don't think he's an idiot. He's young and not accustomed to this. As for the manager, well I wouldn't call a manager who's won 4 World Series (more than your manager) an idiot. If you follow that premise, why did La Russa all those years continue to let Rich Ankiel pitch when he threw 7 wild pitches a game. Clayton Kershaw had a bad inning, not a bad career. He's extremely talented. BTW Torre's a better manager than La Russa.:p

LaRussa was an idiot for letting Ankiel keep pitching.

In the regular season, it's one thing, but in the playoffs, you shouldn't take any chances IMO.

C'mon. I'm no Dodgers fan but the kid is a future ace if not one already. The first wild pitch you can chalk it up to one of those things. The second wild pitch is always when you send a pitching coach in to calm him down. The third one is when the manager pulls him. I think Torre did the right thing. Remeber also that this came in a rush. He was dominant up until that point and the Dodgers may not be there if he wasn't on the team.

Good game but still think Dodgers are winning this series.

I would not call Joe Torre an idiot!, he knows what he does!:)

It's better for Kershaw to get used to the level of competition in the NLCS

It will give him more experience and he will be a High-Level Pitcher in seasons to come...:D;)

And if Kershaw doesn't give up the Ibanez homer and gets out of the inning unscathed, then Torre looks like a wise father figure for trusting his kid and standing behind him.

Almost every game features a few moments like this, where the game could go either way and the manager looks good or bad because a player did or didn't execute. That's baseball.

Basically there were two trends that cost the Dodgers the game: they walked too many Phillies batters and they didn't cash in on RBI opportunities. Championship teams do the opposite. So hopefully they can turn it around and win the series anyway. It's always a matter of which teams executes better.
