I grew up with them as the California Angels, as most of us here knew them as before, but I found it interesting that before that they were in fact the Los Angeles Angels for five seasons from 1961-1965, and had no name as an expansion team only on paper in 1960.
But they were the California Angels from then on until the late-90s.
The Anaheim Angels, as a name, was a very short lived. The whole Anaheim part got lost in the mix as I have never heard anybody refer to them today as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. They are simply the Angels, or the Los Angeles Angels as either name is used here in California. When I hear the full name, it's usually as a butt of a joke.

I think I have all the commercials memorized from watching this postseason. Some variety would be nice...no, I don't want Direct-TV or any black jack tacos, damnit!

I think if CC pulls off another masterpiece in his next start he should be AL CY young Winner imo
This seems very unlikely, as the odds among equals in the regular season is 7-1 against, but against a red hot 100+ Yankees? I think the Dodgers have better odds at doing 3 in a row, but I still doubt that. It's going to be the Phillies against the Yankees this year which is exactly the opposite of what I wanted.
Both LA teams have to hope for next year, unless some unthinkable baseball miracle happens and lightning strikes twice and we have an all LA World Series. It's not over until it's over for the ALCS and NLCS.
But without going out too far on a limb, I think this year is going to be for the Yankees. I predict they take it all in five games in the World Series against the Phillies. Pretty boring, I know.
He may deserve it but, from what I understand, it's already voted on by the writers when the series ends and postseason play has no influence on it.
LOL, it feels like I'm watching the same commercials. I hate that black taco commercial and learned to hate the DirectTV commercial. I like the Android song in the commercial but I'm tired of seeing Whoopi Goldbergs' and Phil Jacksons' ugly mug everytime.
BTW does anybody know the name of the song in the wannabe-Apple Android commercial? I really like it.
You seriously make me laugh. I'll be a bit more diplomatic and do want to say that I have more respect for the Angels than any team in baseball and they've managed to own the Yankees like no other team I've seen. The series may be over but, trust me, any real Yankees fan was scared going into this series. The Angels are that good.
I won't compliment Red Sox fans because frankly the team is the spawn of the devil. I'm just glad that the team could make another deal with the devil to win a couple of W.S. before they burn.

I don't know if I was scared but definitely not as confident as I was against the Twins. The Angels have had the Yankees number and if this Yankee team wasn't so hot and/or less A-Rod's performance, I think it could be 1-3.
And I was personally hoping the Red Sox would win so the Yankees wouldn't face the Angels and so the Yanks could directly boot the Sux.
And yes, Google/T-Mobile's B-list star commercials are getting annoying.

Agreed, but anybody could see that the Red Sox wouldn't have won. They were dead before they played the Angels. Even now I don't think the series is over until it's finished. That team can play. It's just that their starters haven't been as good as the Yanks.
I can't wait to face Lidge because I think he's another overrated closer. I'd rather face Torre but the Dodgers are finished. They proved they still can't hang, with all their arrogance.
