That's one for the Phillies.

To make it somewhat safe for the Phillies, they have to win tomorrow by a good margin again so they can go back to Philly with momentum. I think NY just had a bad game so the Phillies can't slack. It's very possible that NY's batting lineup will wake up and be able to repeatedly rally as they have in the past.

I wonder though I do have to say Weather can be to blame hits never come alot with bad weather and I wonder if Bud havent put this stupid rule in if this game wouldnt have been delayed a lil bit

The problem there is that he's so good, by the time they've committed to the swing, it's already too late. Just once I'd like to step into box and see what it's like to face a pitcher like that.
But if you know he's pitching like that all night just take the pitch. Make him throw strikes.

Oh I saw strikes all night long. Lots of 0-2 counts with no swings. I'd have to watch again but he was pinpoint accurate. The ones in the dirt were the ones he threw on purpose to get the swings.

Yeah, no doubt about it, Lee was clearly on fire.

They had to make him work though. When they finally started to take the 0-2 pitch into the dirt, it was too late to recover. They didn't lay off until like the 6th or 7th inning. Almost every 0-2 pitch Lee threw was that curve ball( I forgot the name they call it) that always sailed out of the zone and some times went into the dirt and got away from the catcher. Lee up to the 6th had great confidence that even though the curve would be in the dirt, it would cause a swing. It took the Yankees those innings to finally lay off it and make Lee adjust. But, by then it was too late and they still swung horribly due to Lee's dominance.

I think it is called a spike curve where the index finger is curled under the ball.

the yankees were GOD AWFUL tonight. just like i thought. nice to see the faithful ny fans leaving the stadium in the 8th inning. stay classy!

Actually they ran into an amazing pitcher and sure they could've been more disciplined at the plate. The Phillies won but I wouldn't feel comfortable unless the next 3 pitchers are just as dominant. Reasoning with you though is like talking to a two year old. Enjoy your win. And I'm not a Yankee fan.

Thats 1 Game relax.:D

1 for 1....100%...1.000

However you look at it, Lee made the Yankees look silly last night. Yes it is one game, but I believe that the Yankees thought that they would be able to walk all over the Phils (as did most of the Yankee fans on here). THey need to get that out of their head, and I think they will have a fire in their eyes tonight. But they are underestimating the Phils to their own detriment.

Just remember who the reigning World Champs are. The Yanks may have 26 to the Phils 2, but the Phils have the most important one at this point in time.

Let's see what Pedro can do tonight.
