Just reading ESPN, you'd swear that the Nats trading Soto was like trading Babe Ruth.

Ruf gone from SF

So far (updated)…

Out

Ruf
Casali
Boyd
Rosenthal
Castro
Walker
Espinal

In

Davis
Stryffeler
Peters
Szapucki
Zwack
Seymour
Proctor
Machado

Highlights are the 40 guys (Davis, Szapucki, Proctor, Machado). My guess is of the lotto picks (no top prospects), Stryffeler, Zwack and Peters are the “prizes”.

The hell…..

Yankees need pitching….

We trade away pitching for an injured outfielder. Was going to say we had a decent trade deadline. But had to blow it at the last second…..

Yankees need pitching? I don't know about that. They are in the top 5 in MLB in all the major pitching stats.

I don't know what the Giants plan is. They really didn't do that much during the deadline even though they got a few prospects. I'm just not as excited about them and I need someone to say it's going to be fine or something. LA and San Diego are going to be the class of the division for years to come, and the Giants will either be middle of the pack or where Arizona and Colorado are.

From 107 wins to .500. Quite a fall.

Yeah baffling. We kept Rodon, which is fine by me, but I bet he's not happy with us.
I'm baffled as to why anyone would want Ruf?

RIP Vin Scully. Not a Dodgers fan, but always a Vin Scully fan. In a class by himself.
He transcended the bodgers ... RIP

Ruf still mashes lefties, but he was given too many AB against righties this year and struggled. Paired with Vogelbach, the Mets have a pretty decent DH platoon now.

Rodon sounded relieved he didn't get traded, actually. Probably not a good enough return offered by anyone.

Not sure how much Davis moves the needle. A more versatile defender, but still not a good one. Ruf and Casali will be missed, both really good guys.

Vin Scully was baseball personified. I can't think of a better announcer in my lifetime. RIP.

Yankees, 14-15 since July 1st.

Earlier, I said their pitching stats were top 5, but that was because of the first few months. On further review, its been terrible lately.

I've been wondering that too. The Yankees came back to earth, finally. Even my Cardinals managed to sweep them, which shocked me, to be sure. Still a good team, though...

They are a good team (along with Dodgers and Houston as the biggest contenders), but to listen to some fans, you'd swear they were going to be a record setting 130 win team.
