The point is how damaging is this stoppage to Baseball and he goes on to detail how Baseball as a sport has contracted, not grown over the past few years. How there's less people buying tickets, less people watching and less overall interest.
I've said this before, the last major work stoppage, hurt the brand, and I don't think it fully captured all of the fans that it lost. Some returned, to be sure but many did not.
I know a number of baseball fans that stopped watching or caring from that stoppage.
There's other factors to MLB's decreasing fanbase but one thing is for sure, this isn't good for the game.
