Bummer it's not up yet, but you know it will be up and solid anytime now. Not to mention there are some apple people busting ass to get it up and solid before iphone has officially released in all 20 countries! This weekend I believe is going to be the most mobileme (.mac) software Apple has ever sold! They have to work the kinks out (Get it online!), they will have it polished sooner than later IMHO

oh dear. They have really screwed up the launch of mobile me. Access today has been sporadic and it seems that, for me, firefox is better and safari!

I was only able to log on twice today and it seemed like I was using a dial-up modem.

same here a few hours of no access to my websites but my idisk was always accessible in the finder and Mail (app) never failed. but the rest of the promised me.com that is what is not coming up..

my idisk wont work =( so I can't access my site either.

I just noticed the iDisk icon has changed since this morning

Anyone notice push seems to be down as far as the iphone is concerned? it was working earlier today, but it's no longer pushing emails or my calendar or...anything to my iphone (2.0). Hopefully this means they're actually fixing it.

I've been a .Mac member for several years, but today, I can't log on. My .Mac System Preference Pane refuses my account name or password, but I know I put them in correctly. Anyone else seeing this?

Tom

Same problem here. And my partner as well. We're in SF. The pain in the ass is that most of his email comes through that account and he cant access it in any way. That 's not a small thing.

Well, while we're on the topic of worst evers, mobileme has got to be one of the worst named products of the year.

MobileMe has screamed "F-, Do-Over" since it was unveiled. Lets see:

Logo - lame
Service - shoddy
Product - garbage

Worst. Apple. Effort. Ever.

I laughed so hard during this that tears came to my eyes. Great job. I'm sure that there are engineers at Apple right now that are showing just about the same behavior as shown in this video.

hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I'm really really amazed...
Whats happening to Apple?

I mean:
1. Pathetic Design (iDisk above is a pretty good example)
2. Horrible implementation (24 hrs since its gone and still not back yet)
3. Software Update Leaks (not one but 2... and also something as imp as 2.0)
4. Leaked App Store (When SJ himself said it to open today at 10:00)
The last and the most scariest point:
5. Microsoft like symptoms (even worse)

Well MobileMe was clearly an afterthought, if I remember correctly it wasn't announced at the SDK event, so clearly hasn't had much time to be R&D'ed and tested. They should've waited to release this if it wasn't ready...especially seeing how it wasn't crucial to the iphone 3G rollout.

I haven't seen that before... that's one tightly wound little guy :D

Like everyone else, I'm excited about trying out the new features of mobile me, and so this prolonged delay in experiencing this loftier service is frustrating. I only add that it would be nice if Apple saw it fit to send its .Mac subscribers an update of some kind, so we're not all in the dark on when our promised upgrade will be realized. I find it unfortunate that Apple isn't communicating with its $99 .Mac membership base; it's not as thought Apple doesn't have our e-mail addresses.

Oh well, the secrecy continues.

AT this point its beyond acceptable. Its very close to a minimum class action 20% credit for the year.

MobileMe wasn't an afterthought - they trademarked the name well before the SDK event. It's just that they didn't have anything to show, and didn't want to cause an Osbourn effect by announcing the successor to .Mac so long before it was to be introduced.

And SproutCore, the framework MobileMe is based on, has been supported by Apple for even longer. I believe they also hired the guy that made it.

They're having a few launch issues. It's an inconvenience that lasts a number of hours. It's not the beginning of the end of Apple, and it's not an immediate failure. Nobody's used the service yet, so hold your judgement until it's actually released and tested.

I just updated to 10.5.4 ... i still see .mac .. which i cannot get into like everyone else.
