I can hear Comic Book Guy

I can hear Comic Book Guy saying "Worst Update Ever! Now if you will excuse me I take my level 70 warrior and raid the humans. Good Day."
:D

I wonder if they are even still working on it. It's gotta be up by the morning for everywhere else getting it, but NZ & Australia already have it! They have the new iPhones made for taking advantage of MM right now! I just wanna see it go up tonight, and if not, at least something to tell us it's not so we can all go and do our own thing instead of being a bunch of crazies glued to our computers(or is it just me?)

I'm visiting Australia and for whatever reason I can't send mail through the app (I guess I need to reconfigure the smtp), can't update iWeb and can't access .mac. It's frustrating because this has been going on for almost 24 hours.

I wonder if the people who bought iPhones here 6 hours ago are having any luck setting it up on their phone. Can anyone chime in?

Very disappointed in Apple that they can get or keep it up

With all due respect, I wonder if perhaps we should stop being so damn demanding and instead follow this with enthusiasm and patience.

Again :apple: made no official launch yet, AND WE ARE SURELY COMPLICATING THINGS WITH OUR STUPID ANXIETY.

...but... that's just me.

Agreed. You can't expect Apple to have a service up and running before they launch it. They haven't said "Come on in, the water is great!" so people shouldn't be saying it's a failboat just yet.

We'll see.

I think the lack of patience has to do with .mac being down for a lot longer than we were told. I have no problem waiting for mobile me to officially launch, but when a service that is being paid for and relied on is down for over a day, when the initial email said it would be down for a few hours, frustration begins to build.

Umm...they most certainly did give us an official launch. Service was supposed to be down only for a few hours.

well the AP already has a news article saying it's a mess...and ur 100% right Apple hasn't launched it yet!

You think this is bad. World of Warcraft goes down for maintenance every week, and people will go nuclear if it is 10 minutes late getting back up. If you think the comments here are septic, read the WoW forums when there is a delay.

They launched it....starting yesterday at 8pm PST. Taken right from the Apple website. And for the record, I haven't been able to access ANY galleries whatsoever. None. All gallery links go to that horrific MobileME propaganda page.

As far as I understand, the only vital service here would be email, and that has never stopped working, right?

Besides, we are paying for it, that's true, but they are also compensating us for any inconvenience duplicating the storage we paid for, right?

So, do they or don't they deserve our patience?

I predicted before the launch that MobileMe would make the iPhone look bad and here we go.

Hoo boy - if you thought before that heads might roll at :apple:, then this absolutely seals it. Steve and company have always been in the business of controlling perceptions and the story of their products. This is bad. REALLY bad.

Ha this is very true and if there is any delay in the expansion pack those people might commit suicide

Maybe I'm the only one, but I can still access my email, and my iDisk is available online (idisk.mac.com). Others have reported that push has been working across their devices. The only thing that hasn't been working is the me.com website.

That said, push went down a little while ago, which is good news - it means they're working hard on it.

The only reason I am truly angry at this point is because I had an important post to put up on my blog about my partner's surgery. And it is now 24 hours later and I still am not able to upload any changes to my iWeb site. I don't care about all the web apps, I just want to be able to get my damn blog posted!

Email is only accessible from the application, not from the website. So for people who do not have their computers, they're out of luck. Is it a matter of life or death, absolutely not. But one of Apple's famous selling points is 'it just works', and it's unfortunate when they fall short of that.

They're giving us 40gb of storage? Because we all paid $99 for 20gb.. Just because .mac was 10gb, mobileme is the new service, which is what we have paid for also, and that included 20gb.. They aren't giving us anything..

I did have access to my gallery around 6 pm cst. Looked pretty neat.

But that was about 4 hrs ago and well...we know the rest of the story

There's no mess, the service hasn't come up yet, that's all.. the migration is taking longer than they expected!

MobileMe isn't up. That's fine.

But .Mac has now been down for a day. That's a big problem. By now they should have rolled back so we could still at least use .Mac. There's no reason .Mac couldn't be up while they're fixing MobileMe.

I agree. I guess it's our fault for paying for a service where Google, for example, has picasa, blogspot, and gmail for FREE without such interruptions.
Oh well. Membership has its privileges, right?

I can just imagine Steve on stage now at WWDC or Macworld:

[MobileMe Cloud appears on screen, crowd groans] . . .
Steve: "Some things don't always go the way we planned,"
[Crowd slowly claps]
Steve: "This time, we think we got it right."
[MobileMe Cloud dissolves and slowly turns into the MobileSteve Head, complete with steam coming out his ears and a caption saying, "I want it working NOW!!"]
