This would be funny if it weren't so... not.

I dunno, at this point I am laughing. I do feel sorry for those going without sleep into the 2nd night. I have been there myself. It's never fun.

At least with switching equipment we can replace it completely, reload a config, and move on. Especially if the problem seems hardware related.

Everyone is blasting the preparation, but you just cannot prepare a test environment to cover every scenario...its too sterile. Some problems will only manifest when you get well into implementing the production system. I'm sure Apple has a rollback plan but no intention of using it.

seriously, i wonder if apple is reading all of our posts and just sitting back and laughing as we are now, or if they're all at boiling point and our enthusiasm comments just throw them over the deep end, i really wish sometimes people were more like Ballmer (don't worry I don't own a PC) and swear and throw chairs when people mention other companies that they hate ahah

ps - going by the at&t stores to see if people are lining up!

A rollback at this point would be so A.) Very Dissapointing and B.) Humiliating for Apple. For an internal business application/upgrade it's one thing, in this case there is NO TURNING BACK!

Maybe they should consult Fark.com to see how to clean up and repair beer on the servers.

Yes, let's not... This is not Wal-Mart - we don't roll back.

Actually, my theory is that they're throwing it open and shutting it down on purpose -- they probably found some kinks in their framework which is best tested for and fixed by using real-time traffic to pummel the bugs into the open.

They're probably fixing a bug, throwing the switch, gathering log and error data, then shutting down to analyze.

Thats probable, too bad we can only speculate. I'm sure there are several here who wish they could jump in and help save the day :D

Maybe we should all just go to sleep....maybe it willl work ............................................................................................................................... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Mr Gates ???

i bet Mr Gates up in Redmond is laughing himself silly. That is, if he can keep his Vista machine up long enough to follow this Apple screw up.

Just a note guys.. the ME service is working on my iphone. i'm able to read my mail and sync contacts, etc.
