I highly doubt that Steve Jobs would have such an easy to guess email address. not to mention that my friend that works at apple mentioned once that the apple.com addresses are for internal use only. so there's probably a filter that junks anything not coming from a legit intranet computer. especially on Steve's account. or if not junked then sent to some office to be dealt with appropriately
That's his email address. Granted, he has an entire office of people help him read his messages.

Is is just me? I feel like a 8 year old boy on Christmas Eve. I know i should just go to sleep, and it will be there for me in the morning, but i want to use it the minute its available.:apple:

Just out of curiousity, has anyone tried the link to the actual login page instead of http://www.me.com/ ? I don't have time to read a 36 page thread to find out.

https://auth.apple.com/authenticate

I would try it myself but I don't have a .Mac or MobileMe account.

In summary, OunZe's sources guaranteed that MobileMe and 2.0 would be running at exactly 8am EDT tomorrow. If that info is wrong, then OunZe will be climbing to the top of the NY Times building and jumping to his death.

People have emailed him at that address successfully and received responses. I remember one about a guy complaining that the day after he bought an iMac G5 for his son, the Intel iMac was announced, and that the guy was worried that the machine was no obsolete. SJ responded to reassure the guy that the iMac G5 would be a quite capable machine for years to come.

bwiggs- I am 99.99% sure that OunZe will be committing suicide tomorrow.

you "heard" about it.

quite a few macrumors members have reported receiving such replies from that email address.

the trick is that I can go into my mail program, set up an account with any reply address I like and mail it to myself and it will look like it came from Steve or whomever. it's only if I showed the full headers that you would see that the message came from somewhere not likely to be Steve.

Oh without a doubt. I have been on their side of things, struggling for 48 hours straight trying to get a site back up and running.

Let me just tell you, it sucks :D I am sure those guys are busting their asses to get it back up.

Na, I doubt it. Steve Jobs is upper management. There are indeed managers chewing down the necks of people, but Steve is probably not one of them.

Trust me - it happens. I have a friend that I go to college with who has had trouble with her Powerbook and MacBook for a long time and she finally emailed Steve Jobs and long story short actually got to talk to him and got a brand new MacBook. If you want to call me out on it I can just have her post here too.

my 4 reliable apple insider sources all confirm that mobileme will be down until 8am EST tomorrow morning.. Today was basically just a test to make sure everything worked and it passed - only 10% of the servers went online today just to make sure everything was working properly which explains the slow service while us apple losers where all attacking it at once..

Thanks for the information!

Accurate or not, I think information like this is, at the very least, interesting--why scare off someone willing to share with us?

By the way, welcome to MacRumors Forums, OunZe--not everyone here is mean. ;)

However, as someone who has read this site for years and years and knows most the regular posters here it is a real email address that does get legitimate replies.

You know, if MobileMe went active for even just 60 seconds with a redirect to a Rick-Roll, I would e-mail Steve Jobs and personally apologize for all the negative comments I've made today.

hahaha. The combination of the epic fail of the launch, and the epic win of such a rick roll, would cause space-time itself to tear at the seams. Existance itself would be erased.

How about you email him and tell him to fire his mobile me staff because they are doing a sucky job

hahaha, my fav post of the day. plus i'm tired and its extra funny. plus i've thrown grammar out the window for the day. i did use an appropriate apostrophe though, so there's a win.

Unless you have least +4 to.... aa screw it, i can't even finish that one haha.

Lolz

It would be fun to fill up Jobs' mailbox with bizarre, poorly spelled tirades from people who aren't the usual Apple demographic.

For example, an outraged Jamaican pimp annoyed that his site at obesereggaebootycall.web.mac.com is down sends an incoherent email in which the only recognizable words are "cap" and "ass".
