I can login to the webapps (slower than I prefer, but faster than this morning), but cant get into user prefs. I also cannot get the MobileMe update on either my Mac Pro or MBP.

Would software update only distribute the MobileMe update only if you have the iPhone 2.0 update? I updated mine, but its in a brick state. Or would Apple's servers be distributing it selectively to not overload another server?

People that can't get in via the web. I just had a support chat, and the lady changed my password, and now I am in. Try changing your password first, and then if that doesn't work, get them to change it for you

This worked great for me, but instead of contacting Apple I just used the forgot password link on Me.com. Thank you.

Ummmm that would be because its IMAP mail. IMAP by its very nature is synced email, no matter which vendor provides it....GMAIL etc.

But there would still have to be an option to setup it up to sync/push mail to/from Outlook, there's has to be a way to turn this feature on or off and there is no option in preferences for Mail.

The upgrade still does not show up in update. I guess I will wait like I should have with the 2.0 update.

There's also no option to sync with Outlook for Email in Windows either, I only see Calendar and Contacts available to sync

On my Windows Vista partition in my mobileme preferences I have the option to sync calendars, however it is greyed out. Can anyone venture to guess why? I figured I had somehow configured my Windows Calendar wrong (then again I have never once opened windows calendar). But my Contacts and Email synced just fine and I had never opened either of those!

So has the MobileMe Update been released yet?

The MobileMe web interface has been up pretty much most of the day right?

Just doing software update and it says nothing to update..

Do I need the update to get the Push stuff working?

My guess is that at this point they are only trying to enable certain aspects. Not to be a jerk about it, but considering I can't even view anything right now except contacts and iDisk, the sync stuff may be low on their priorities.

it's actually working for me, at last! :)

changing my password worked for me. i had tried once, but just re-entered the same password. this time i actually used a different one and it worked!

Nope - not up yet - it goes off an on - mostly off. Only the Push email seems to be working on the iPhone - calendars - even if they appear on me.com do not appear on the iPhone.

The software update has not yet been released - and .mac.com still says maintenance.

Dont know if this will help but this is from the online MobileMe help file (available once you log into MM).

"Setting up MobileMe sync on a Windows computer

Support
If you have a paid MobileMe subscription, you can use Microsoft Windows XP or Vista to synchronize your contacts and calendars between your computer’s hard disk and MobileMe. You can also synchronize contacts, bookmarks, and calendars across all your Windows computers.

After you’ve installed the MobileMe control panel (included with iTunes version 7.7) and have entered your MobileMe member name and password, follow these instructions to set up MobileMe synchronization.

To synchronize your information using Windows XP or Vista:
From the Start menu, open Control Panels and click MobileMe.

Make sure your MobileMe member name and password are entered correctly, and then click Sync.

Select the “Synchronize with MobileMe” checkbox and then choose Automatic or Manually from the pop-up menu. You can also choose Every Hour, Every Day, or Every Week.

Select the checkboxes for the items you want to synchronize.

To be notified when the information on your computer changes, choose an item from the pop-up menu.

Click the Sync Now button.

Enter the same synchronization settings on all the computers you want to keep synchronized.

MobileMe synchronization supports the following Windows applications for each information type:

Contacts: Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, XP Windows Address Book, and Vista Address Book

Bookmarks: Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, and Safari

Calendars: Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007"

I can use all of the web apps except calendar (tells me it can't connect to the server), but can't get my Vista machine at work to log in via Control Panel. Things at home on my Mac seem to be OK. Push email works to my iPhone.

Hehe I see the fanboy types jumped straight for my throat.

Let's hope they actually fix it, eh?

PS. The difference between MobileMe and Vista?!? Apple can fix MobileMe.

Can they? I've seen no evidence of this so far, and it's been over 24 hours since the supposed launch. That's a long time to have flakey servers.

Its fixed for me for the last 10 minutes anyway - every page loads fast (within 10 seconds) - I can log in and out and can access everything. My changes are being pushed to my computer within seconds...

Maybe its temporary or Im just lucky... (I restarted and repaired permissions after MobileMe 1.1 install and thats when it all started to work for me).

people have reported

that mobileme software updates have been released through apple's software update program. is this true? i can't get it in my software update...

sunspots

Sunspots - an old term we used to use when we could not figure out why....

On the other side of the fence, MS has not been a joy either today... MS pushes out 4 updates in the last 2 days, I have to keep going through constant reboots. My Virtual machines are locking up, IE7 keeps freezing and not responding, and my outlook is as slow as.... I am using XP.

This is my work machine. I have one personal computer (Xp media center 2005) that is totally frozen and won't reboot properly, and my Dell Laptop just keeps prompting for updates.

I think today is the day when computers went on strike!!!!

It's odd that all the help info and the preferences stuff for MobileMe all uses the word 'sync' and nothing about 'push'. PUSH and SYNC are two different things... you would think if the push technology isn't fully functional yet they would issue a statement about it.

iPhone activation

So... Im going for my iphone rigth now...

With all this activation problems of itunes... Will I be abe to activate my iphone or not???

Got calendar to work long enough to learn that there is still no way to make an auto-repeating To-Do. Pretty lame.

Push email

Push email worked for me all of yesterday. Hasn't been working for me today.

What's everyone else's experience?
