For me, everything except Mail or Contacts work, although painfully slow. Mail crashes my browser and Contacts sometimes crashes, sometimes loads.

Web interface still says invalid ID/password
Web interface still up and down like a yoyo
Mac took unregistering and reregistering to sync
Address book doesn't sync at all
Automatic sync means "I'll sync when I'm good and ready" (certainly no push to or from the Mac)
Those who do have the new phones have had problems with the sync server
Biggest tech farce since Vista.

I think that the MobileMe web apps are way too complex given the strain that the service will have to cope with.

They need a "lite" version, not only would that push some users to pick reliability/speed over features it would also enable better browser support (like IE6, older Firefox/Safari, Opera and browsers on Linux/other OSes).

From poop to crap - wow, and we pay for this ?!?!!

I wouldn't mind so much, knowing how intense this service is and realizing there would be some problems (although I agree it's pretty embarrassing how many), except for the fact that I have not had any access to my email for over 24 hours at this point.

Stocks across the board are down right now, it's not as if Apple is the only one not doing well today. Granted the problems are not helping with the stocks but also realize it's not just Apple that's not doing well today thus far.

I realize that, but if you look at the website they started sliding even heavier after the launch. The only other company that is showing as much as a downfall right now is RIMM.

If Apple turns this around by the end of the trading day and can announce that they made the quickiest resolution to fixing the problem and then list what the problem actually was, then maybe they will bounce back up. but right now, they keep dropping. their stock has lost over $5 on the day so far and over $3 since the launch. Rimm is diving on skeptism about the company.

As a favor to people that type like me, feel free to cut and paste (no royalties):

It's up again!
It's down again!
Mine works!
Mine works except mail/contacts/idisk/calender (delete the unneeded ones)
No mail for (days or hours)!!
Have patience people.
Someone needs to be fired!
Microsoft would have been worse!
Microsoft would have been better than this!
Apple should return stock money and close (Michael Dell).

I just wanted to point out that Safari (at least on my MacBook) won't extend the screen far enough down to click "Done" on the Mail application.

Not that I expected it to work, but if it's not usable on a 13.3" screen (Hello Apple. Let me introduce you to an idea I like to call "testing".), then there's no hope for my 7" EeePC. Bummer. :(

Well, Apple did explain that you can still use Mail, etc. to access email.

lol your so helpful!! Webmail for when you don't have access to your mac mail app!!

Apple did explain that it would be down for a few hours, not friggin 36!!!!! They should have a bloody note on the web page at least saying sorry and when they think we might be able to check our mail again!!

Thank you, you just summarised the thread, all 62 pages, in one fell swoop. Mods, you may close it now ;)

Hey!

Biggest tech farce since Vista.

I think some posts here are being really harsh on .Me sorry Mobile me. In 2-3 days when everything is back to normal nobody will remember this. Everybody will be talking about how Heath Ledger looks on Batman or some guitarhero-rocker-wannabe fantasy.

So relax and give it a while. Just let them figure out. If your bitching continues, then go work for Ballmer.

A .Mac/.Me user.

I personally think apple took on WAY too much to launch on one day,

iphone3G, firmware 2.0, mobileme, app store

yes i count those all separately as think about just one of those buy itself would be a big launch

Ok, it's kinda working, but speaking about Calendar, where is "Subscribe to a Calendar" function? I can't believe it's absent.

As long as I am able to access my mails via my MacBook, everything is good. And that worked all the time - sometimes slow though, and attachments seem to be a problem too occasionally. Especially if they are bigger.

Can't access my mails at work though, which sucks. But my boss would be glad (if he knew I would check them at work)

Where's the push?

Has anyone else noticed that there doesn't appear to be any 'push' going on here. You can manually sync or wait for it to sync it and it will update across devices, but syncing is a whole lot different than push technology. My understanding is, if I update something on my calendar on my Mac it should almost instantly appear in the calendar on MobileMe and the other way around too, when I try this nothing ever happens unless I make it sync or wait until it runs a scheduled sync. There is no immediate 'push' between devices happening the way it was demoed at WWDC

Mail is NOT the ONLY app you can use. It is 2008, or do you not know how the intertubes work.

When Steve Jobs presented MobileMe at his keynote he showed off being able to mount your iDisk as a network drive on Windows PCs. It looks like that's a feature they omitted. Here's hoping that they put it back in.

I am just as upset and annoyed as the next person at this point but at least you can check your email right from your Mac desktop using Apple's Mail.

ur right on the money..the only thing that pushes is the photo gallery...if you upload a photo on the link..it automatically shows up on mobileme and the other way around...I think this service is pretty awesome for only 99 a year...when it's working probably and I'm able to fully use it, it's NASTY!! All my computers are synced, and I just created a photo gallary...sweet stuff...I hate to say it but by Monday everything should be alright
