Thanks

I don't feel comfortable installing an upgrade that isn't officially "blessed" by Apple. I have never had any of the strange configuration problems that people report from time to time, and I attribute that, at least partially, to following official Apple update procedures 100% of the time.
That took the edge off. Not sure if that's the 1.0 or 1.1, but at least it's a start until the next update and it seems to be working. Thanks again.

Do you mean push to/from Mac is also finally working?
Don't know, but it's working for me on my 3G and my macbook... our other iphone and iMac... still holding my breath. It didn't get either official software update.

I'm still interested to know how often "automatically" is in sync preferences.

What I would like to happen is this - as soon as I create a new calendar app for example in iCal it triggers a sync to mobileme at the moment it just seems to sync every now and then (Usually about every 15 mins)

This would be a bit useless if I put an appointment in and then had to go out as I'd shut my Macbook and the data wouldn't get pushed.

definitely not, If I put an appointment into Entourage at work it doesn't hold it on my iMac for 15 mins it pushes it straight onto the Exchange server where it should be.

Same should apple for MobileMe. Obviously Apple are having problems with the OS X side of things as they're releasing patches on the fly so maybe this will be addressed.

It seems to work much better with the iPhone than OS X, so hopefully it'll get sorted.

just applied the update.

my mobile me system pref was showing a blank page for my account info, so i logged out thinking logging in will fix it.

well, I can't log back in now. It tells me there's an error with the server. I'm starting to get used to all these problems.

yes definitely, no iSync on the iPhone, it's as if it talks directly with the servers unlike OS X where things are basically exactly the same as they were with .Mac

even if you aren't a .Mac member, going to the .Mac system preference pane, and just click around on the entry fields for username and password, and just let the pane sit open for a minute, and then I got the notice to pop up to go to software update, and lo and behold, MM update 1.1 appeared!

I will second this. Opened it up and a few seconds later "pop". ;)

Yep, me too. I tried Software Update straight from the Apple Menu and got nothing. Tried the 'click around .mac' technique just a few seconds later and well, "pop".

Here is the link to the MobileMe update in the XML feed (I just used it on another Mac and it worked the same as the one that I got downloaded from Software Update).

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/down...5bfX79JhhCXfMyvhhPFHBcmwMpJnTzMX/MobileMe.pkg

you just convinced me to apply the update. :D
I downloaded the software from FreeState's link and then I did a restore on the old iPhone... setting it up as a New phone not with the backup. MobileMe is fine but the "Push" is not working on the 1stgen iphone. On hold with tech support.

how can i tell if i have mobile me 1.0 or 1.1?

I downloaded the software from the link in this thread. However there is no mobile me showing in my "About this Mac" on Software Frameworks or Software Logs. I do have the "cloud icons."

Thanks for your help. I have 3.4 in mail. So i guess I have what I need and should stop waiting for an update. LOL.

Stay AWAY!!!!!

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GO NEAR AN APPLE STORE TODAY!!!!!

2 lines, one for the iphone, one for everything else.

People waiting in lines 4 1/2 hrs to get an iphone, I waited 20 minutes just to get inside the store, only to find "sorry we don't carry that software anymore you will have to go online to download it"

They also can't tell you anything about mobile me. they said "since the iphone dropped, haven't had time for anyone else"

the store was not that full as it usually is, they are only letting a few people in at a time as others walk out.

Oh, and I was at the Streets of Southpoint store in Durham. some of the clerks (especially one women) were not there jovial selfs. many were rushing around and really could not take time to help you.

Since I have been home this afternoon (outlook 2003 on windows xp)...

Web interface running much faster :D
mail still flowing :D
syncing from cloud to outlook deleted my outlook contacts
Syncing from PC to cloud does not update the web interface:(

I think I have other issues this afternoon  my outlook will not even stay running. Appears also outlook express does not support imap properly for mobile me to work.

As we do in Windows "Rebooting"

I'm cross-posting here... sorry, but i think the word needs to get out.

Push from Macs/PCs isn't coming any time soon:

Symptoms
With MobileMe Push, you can choose how often your computer syncs your contacts, calendars, and other sync data via MobileMe. If you select "Automatically", changes made on your computer may not immediately sync to MobileMe.

Products Affected
MobileMe
Resolution
Mac OS X

Selecting Automatic in Mac OS X allows your computer to immediately sync and update when there are any changes on the MobileMe servers. Those changes can come from your iPhone, iPod touch, the MobileMe website, or another computer. Changes made on your computer will be synced to the MobileMe "cloud" once every 15 minutes (or every hour in Mac OS X 10.4.11).

Microsoft Windows

Selecting Automatically in the MobileMe Control Panel syncs your computer with MobileMe every 15 minutes.

Personal domain name's gone!

Well, my MobileMe's working now, but...ohmigosh, the worst has come. My personal domain name's gone! It's the MobileMe front page coming out instead of me!

I've emailed support but it seems they'll come back to me in 48 hours yet.

Now I'm considering migrating my personal domain to another webhost that I already have for other purposes. I always had trouble uploading from Sandvox to .Mac anyway. Only I don't want to spend any more than I already have on these things.

Push from Macs/PCs isn't coming any time soon:
The idea that I may have to wait a whole 15 minutes to see changes sync makes my blood boil with incandescent rage. Some of my associates change their phone number 4 or 5 times in that space.

In other news, the mobile me site (on apple.com) still says it's not officially available. Its all going to be ok everybody, breathe...

So that means there is not going to be REAL PUSH for the Outlook? Correct me if I am wrong

Same Here! Also when I was on this morning earlier it said there was a problem with the credit card on file. I have updated my card info and it was all up to date a month ago with .Mac. My account is up for renewal next month and there is no place on MobileMe to update or change credit card info like there was in .Mac. I emailed support but no response as of yet. Anyone else with this issue?
There used to be a credit card info option on the accounts page. I imagine it will come back.

this is terrible!!!
All the calendar appts on my iPhone AND mobile me have been erased

If this goes into the new work week, heads better start rolling!!!
