ok - great. thanks! btw, how is safari 4?
It doesn't work me MobleMe. I just installed and tried the latest version of the Safari 4 preview. It still doesn't work, so don't bother if you need to use MobileMe. At least that is my experience.

the push has been working for me for a couple of days. my only gripe is it's not crazy fast yet, but that's to be expected.

But when i add a calendar date from my phone, and it comes up on my Imac, i am getting this "Sync alert" dialog prompt. i have to accept the changes before they go on the computer. how can i set this to where i don't receive the prompt any longer?

ok - guess i'll hold off until that is corrected. thanks.

Interesting...

In "About the Mac" I show MobileMe in the Software Frameworks and also in the Software Update Log. In the log it's in twice: MobileMe 1.0 and MobileMe 1.1

1.1 updated Mail to 3.4. I do not know if it added anything else already installed with 1.0.

When MobileMe was up, my MBP appears to have synched on a regular basis (I have it set for Automatic). Last successful was five minutes ago.

I get this same message also about how 5% of my data is going to change. I just hit ok to accept the changes.

I haven't applied the update yet, but I have icons for MobileMe in System Prefs, and my mail account logo (in mail pref) has also automatically changed to the mobile me logo. also, my @me.com address was automatically added to my email (in addition to my @mac.com address I've always had).

I dont know
what OS are you running?

Mac OS X 10.5.4

I have MobileMe.pkg version 1.1. Honestly, I don't know if it's safe to install without the 1.0 version, but I did anyway on my MacBook. I've had some problems, but after the second restart, everything seems to be okay. This computer comes from a school lab, though, so its integrity in terms of hardware is somewhat in question.

Still nothing here..

No MM icons or anything on the iMac here. Augh.. Need to get my contacts back in the iPhone by tonight. Need it done for work.

Here is the link to the MobileMe update in the XML feed (I just used it on another Mac and it worked the same as the one that I got downloaded from Software Update).

I don't feel comfortable installing an upgrade that isn't officially "blessed" by Apple. I have never had any of the strange configuration problems that people report from time to time, and I attribute that, at least partially, to following official Apple update procedures 100% of the time.

i just don't want to have to do this each time. it kinda defeats the purpose of auto-updating. especially since i change my calendar a lot.

OK then, if I add something to say iCal on my Mac it doesn't push to the cloud straight away.

In MobileMe system prefs I have it set to 'Automatically' does anyone know what frequency 'Automatically' actually is?

Try this,
Open iSync
Goto iSync Preferences
Untick the box that says 'Show data change alert when 'More than 5%' (Pic attached)

That should fix it as it's iSync that is giving the popup.

iCal has to sync first then it will push to your phone. If you haven't set up sync to sync automatically then you should. It auto syncs every so often then it will go out to the phone.

Have we any idea how often it does? I assume it must do it before any shutdowns/restarts too.
