surely this means its coming very soon. i would love to see it start before the iphone 3g

This is what I've been wondering for the last week. Any guesses as to when the service will actually start?

I'm hoping Tuesday. Can you imagine the headaches of releasing major new hardware and software on Friday (iPhone 3G and software 2.0 for iPhone 1.0), as well as a brand new service?

Of course all the push capabilities will be tied to Software 2.0. Maybe a Thursday release for those of us previous generation iPhone owners?

Why not a MobileMe gift card? OR in-store activation

instead of boxes on the shelf - why not a flashy in store display with a bunch of gift cards on it that are activated the same way all other gift cards are.

no box, minimum waste and a product that the consumer gets in the store

OR you buy the service in the store (or on line) and you go to a Mac in the store and activate the service.

no access to bookmarks!

They "will remove the online web access to them" (to Bookmarks).

That's ridiculous, why shouldn't I have access to my bookmarks when I'm not at one of my computing devices? Especially since I already paid for my .Mac service which include that option!!!!

It seems like it'd be pretty easy to allow access to that for us. I rarely use this option, but when I need it, it's a lifesaver.

Looks like someone will be creating a script to run daily to export my bookmarks and save them to my Mac account so I can access them from anywhere...

According to the .Mac homepage, it looks like it's going live at midnight PT (3am EDT) on Thursday, July 10th.
