I hate the notch way more than I disliked the bezels. I know I must be so old to not care about those giant bezels but that cutout is hideous. This whole anniversary phone is turning into a half measure. Couldn't get TouchID or sensors under the screen, couldn't do real wireless charging, losing the iconic home button. I understand the tech isn't there yet for some of this, and thats fine, but why do we have to have a few extra centimeters of screen before the tech is ready? They say Steve was a d|ck but you would have thanked him when someone handed him this notched phone and he screamed at them and threw it across the room.

The bottom picture far left is what it will (hopefully) look like. The home button will be bigger though, looks too small here for the average persons thumb.

Apple didn't get rid of bezels like Samsung.

This phone has reduced bezels.

Please Macrumors stop saying it's bezel-less

The S8 has more bezel than this iPhone. Please can people stop claiming the S8 has less bezels, it's all an illusion due to the curved edges.

If I was going to use this phone I'd hope that they don't use the top bits much other than blended in with info. It looks like it's frowning otherwise.

In this example, the Home button would become 'Bert's ticklish belly button'. Perhaps that is when he will frown. Also Siri is now voiced like Bert (or Ernie, you can choose in settings).

Apple won't waste the space at the bottom of the screen, if they leave it blank all the time they might as well have had a chin still with physical home button. I imagine they'll make use of the whole screen, and encourage developers to do the same.

I wish Apple would give us picture-in-picture on the new phone. Silly not to have it on the plus phones with such a big screen.

In my opinion(minority), I think the far right image would look incredible with a white notch and black sensors. I think that would be the white version and then the black versions would have all black.

I second this. I know most prefer the black notch concealing the sensors. But the white contrast is appealing to me, along with the copper color.

All of these concept are awkward. So now the status bar is just taller with two rows? So there's really no point to the screen areas next to the notch. The bottom area just extends the tab bar's color? What if there is no tab bar in that app, just inconsistent from app to app? I don't buy it.

If it turns out to be true *cough*cough* its a wasted additional screen estate. It brings nothing to the game. Tabs at the bottom and headers are the worst app design features that continue to be present on our screens cause designers don't no better.

Enjoy your gimmick

Oh and yeah home button will disappear when you scroll the screen. Magic.

Sad that now Apple are playing catch-up with Samsung..... Sure Tim is there to 'keep Steve alive' but imitation does not replace innovation, at any level
