If you "just" bought them, they likely are the new versions that had new firmware. Zagg released revised versions that supposedly fixed the issue. https://www.macrumors.com/2023/08/01/mophies-travel-charger-returns/
A bit concerning if you were still having charging problems...
However, that update kit should not have been used as it is intended for the older version.
Did you buy them from Apple? I ended up not waiting for Zagg and returned the old version to Apple for a full refund before just buying the new version which has worked flawlessly so far.
In fact again if you "just" bought one, it has new apple watch fast charging and is an entirely new version. That firmware update kit is not intended for it and probably messed something up. I'd return to wherever you purchased.
Unfortunately, yes, I bought them from ZAGG directly and they still had the intermittent charging issue and they actually directed me to the firmware update kit on the site and email. And nowhere, not on the website nor the documentaction that came with the firmware dongle it said that this was for some other version. Would love to send it back but can’t as I am out of the return window and they are not responding to my mails. Classy company.
