Yes apple should get rid of the 4.7 and make the two sizes 5 and 5.8 with both phones sporting smaller bezels.
No point in making a 4.7 as well as a 5.
There are sooo many people who find the 4.7" model too big....
Some think the SE is too big but I agree with you.

Thats ironic for me because a lot of people I know who complained about the size of the Plus now have it.
I am noticing here in NYC that the ratio to 4.7 to 5.5 is 50/50.

It used to be 80/20 only a year ago. People like bigger screens, especially women that can put it in their bags.

You are probably an apple employee - such a bad comparison.

Ferrari F50 came out in 1995 sold for £250,000 and now goes for around £1.2million
iPhone 4 came out in 2010 sold for £600-700 goes for around £54

you see a ferrari is made in limited amounts plus it holds its value, comparing this to iphones is so damn ignorant no one will say omg i want to buy an iphone 3gs its such a cool product - nope its obsolete whereas a f50 cannot be obsolete.

I will have to disagree.
Just like with any good sold the value and price is subjective and its not measured on its resale value many decades later.
You vote with your wallet and purchase what suits your needs, wants and what your lifestyle can support.
If you want premium products you will have to pay higher prices.
Pretty simple. You have choices.

4.7" is too small for a lot of folks.
5.5" is too big for a lot of folks.
5" is perfect for a lot of folks.
I would phase the 4.7" model out but hey, there's still a market for small phones.

You say this like 4.7in and 5in is going to be this colossal difference. I'd be surprised if anyone even noticed.

There's a big difference between 5.2" and 5.5"
My 5.2" Xperia XZ is much smaller than my 6S+

there is only a $20 difference in the plus model compared to last year. the prices were always the same. you're being irrational.

You are being selective in your reasoning. I would say the previous few years have all been dramatically overpriced. I purchased an iphone 5 outright from apple on release for $730 or so and for the past few years the non plus has been over $1000. Don't even bother looking at the price of the plus.

To me, no phone is worth $1000 or well above that mark. And it boggles my mind how other people (particularly low income earners) are able to be walking around with the latest and greatest from apple.

Value is obviously in the eye of the beholder.

What kind of currency or values are you going by?
The prices of iphones haven't changed for years. Like he said above the Plus just increased by $20.
Are you including sales taxes, apple care protection along with cases and screen protectors in that $1000 price you're quoting?

All this talk about Apple greed is ridiculous. They're a company in the business of making high end products. Nobody has to buy their products. So don't. But if you do then you're getting a very high quality device that retains its value WELL BEYOND a PC counterpart or Android phone. I just sold a 5 year old MacBook Air for over $500.

Hi

I am disappointed that Apple have introduced a MacBook with such a huge price increase would we see more greed with the iPhone next year?

Not iPhone 7 to 7S

But an IPhone Pro!! (Re-invention of the original iPhone) stupidly priced and a cheaper iPhone 7S with a Minimal spec but that majority can afford!

MacBook Pro
Mac Pro
IPad Pro

Soo why not iPhone Pro?

Your thoughts?

Cheers

Are you for real? Has the price of an outright iphone stayed the same for the 5, 5s,6 and 6s in America?

Im for real.
The price hasn't increased for the iphones you mentioned above.
They were all $649 for the base model.
Same thing for the iphone 7 $649 for the base model that is 32GB's of storage now instead of 16GB's than previous years.

Mate you don't need to wait for the next iphone to see greed in iphone prices. The 7 and 7 plus outright prices are ridiculous. Way overpriced and increased in price from last year.

You know what's ridiculous? your statement.

The Google Pixel XL is $769.00.
The Samsung S7 Edge is $792.00

Tell me again how Apple is overpriced?

Don't worry about it. For almost everyone these items are wants and not needs. If the next iPhone is worth the price to you, buy it. If not, don't.

It's rally that simple and the reality is if people are willing to pay the price there will always be someone willing to take your money. We need to stop viewing Apple as a charity. I get it. They want to make the world better and save the orphans and whatever. That's marketing rubbish. They want your money. As soon as you accept that the happier you will be.

I won't be buying a new MacBook. Simply don't need it, especially at that buy in. The next iPhone will have to wow me. The 7 did not and I already skipped it. That said, if T-Mobile does a nice trade in program I may as well just hop on board once this 6s plusnisntwo years old.

The outright price for base model iPhone in the US has been the same since the iPhone 3G. Afaik that price still stands true. Of course, plus models have also always been $100 more than that since they were released. This year they see a $120 difference (not happy about that but it is what it is).

When talking US dollars I am unsure what phone you are saying is $1000. Before taxes you could get a 256gb 7 for $850; you'd be will under $1000 even with taxes. A 7 plus if the same size would run you $970; this would hit north of $1000 after taxes.

iPhone 7 Pro will have 4GB RAM, HD screen resolution and no chin. It will sell for $500 more then the 7.

That seems to be the direction we're headed. Apple - "Offering less and paying more"

Mark my words only the 5.0 and 5.5 sizes will have oled - the 4.7 will have the normal old display will look like the 7
Hope they don't do that

If they did why not just update the SE and ditch the 4.7 and have the 5 and 5.5

Of course, the 4.7" probably will be left out next year when they offer OLED.

The surprise will be if Apple packages it in.

Just like how "pro" will add another $100
Maybe. Who knows? People were talking about a "pro" this year. Didn't happen. Will it? I couldn't say.

To me it's kind of simple. The pro would need to be $100 better for me to buy. If it's not I don't.

Apple apparently had the best preorders of their MacBooks ever this year. We can discuss why that is. Many factors. But I just want to say I wasn't one of those people. I accept the "Apple tax". It was too steep for what I was getting this year especially compared to the competition (though I'm not buying a surface either, if that's relevant).

Highly doubt they would sell 4 models of phones. The OLED screen would allow them to use smaller to zero bezels which would reduce the size.

Remember when we highly doubted Apple would have three iPhone models? Well it happened with iPhone 6. It makes sense from a marketing point se and 4.7 basic models plus they will be dirt cheap to make. 5 and 5.5 Pro oled models with price hike.

The fact of the matter is that apple can charge whatever they want since they have a monopoly on products and basically you have no choice in what you pay because of this. Only way around is to move over to windows which I am seriously considering since there is a lack of upgradeability on any mac computer. I use very few apps and not so much concerned about books / music from iTunes rather apps in general. This has been the only reason I haven't switched thus far....
