Just so you guys know, if it's true that the GPU is a 9600M GT and the CPU clock speeds will remain the same, there'll be almost no spec improvement this gen. I mean, the 9600M GT is about 3% faster than the 8600M GT in real world performance and the CPU will only be a tiny bit more powerful..

So much for "Pro" eh?

So many people are declaring this a failure already its like you WANT to be dissapointed

No. I mean there may be things that claim to do that, but of course that's not possible. (Not in a real sense.)

No. :D

Its like a plastic piece that you place in front of the screen. I've seen it before, but I don't remember what it's called. I don't really care, though, I like glossy. lol

What you could look into is http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/search/search.php?keyword=macbook
Use that as a Matte screen, also, keeps it from scratches. I have it on my iPhone, and it rocks. I'm soon to get it on a new MacBook/Pro.

Doesn't make it completely Matte, but it helps. I just love that it's easier to clean off than the regular glossy screen.

This link isn't working? Anyways, like I said, I'm pretty sure I prefer glossy. My iPod is pretty easy to clean, so if its glass, it shouldn't be hard.

The ones I've seen are overlays, like iPhone screen protectors.

Yep, this is what I meant. You can place it in front of the real screen.

Nope, daddy SJ explicitely bans it in the condition of use of his SDK. Just as he bans GPS routing softwares (no TomTom), softwares that loads other software (no Java) or even executes code (no Flash). Or, apparently, software that replaces an Apple application with a better alternative...
What was all the Mac launch in 1984 about? Something about Big Brother, right? Well, 24 years better, it seems like Apple wants to be the new IBM...

PS: Of course, you can still do porns as iPhone webapps... At least, until a firmware update starts filtering the Internet for your own good...

I was pretty much joking when I asked. I think those porn games online are lame. My boyfriend does them sometimes though, thinks they're "funny" (right...) D= Anyways, I figured it'd be a funny question to ask, but I didn't really believe it was possible, as you proved it isn't really.

But will an untold number of them fail within 3 years? You know, like the 8600.

totally agree. I am trying to stay skeptical regarding these pics and rumors, but I have to tell you, its hard, and sometimes people forget that for now, all we know, are just rumors. Still, I see it as a very exciting day.

Just hope to be inpressed at the end of it.

XD

You're starting to sound like a broken record. No one knows a thing until 10am PST.

Does ANYONE on this forum actually KEEP a laptop for THREE YEARS?!?!?

I was/am planning on giving my current MBP to my GF. She will hold onto it for 5 or 6. She almost never runs graphically intense programs, so I'm not worried.

But the point is there. You should be able to. After paying 2.5k, yeah something should last for a few years.

Blu Ray Player = Battery Life Wins Out
Blu Ray Burner = Who needs battery, I'm making movies!

So your either shooting movies in HD that are long, or you have extremely long home movies, or you make compilations.

Your camera isnt at the foot of your bed is it....

I think this guy is the one who will be dissappointed.

Nah, unlike seemingly most here, I don't have razors out to slit my wrists if the laptop doesn't replace my right hand. I realize that apple pays people a lot of money to research what the "general population of prosumers want" and responds accordingly. Notice how their stock price has steadily gone up the last 10 years? Their marketshare has continually gone up. They're doing something right.

However, you can choose to use the blu-ray or not, your loss. ;)

Does a bluray reading a regular dvd use the same amount of power as a regular superdrive ? Does it only draw more power when actually reading a bluray disc?
