More 'Brick' MacBook Case Images?

I thought apple.pro would release some more info on the new MacBooks this day. Is it already there?

I'll be damned! it's thinner than Air..
and the rumors were right, the trackpad is actually made of glass or something similar:) the keys are as well, take that, chiclet keys, now they can be whatever you want them to

Does anyone think that these cases will do away with the 'sharp' bezel on the bottom of the case - it really cuts into my hands after a while!

if it's not a lot thicker than the voodoo envy, http://www.infosyncworld.com/gfx/articles/voodoo_envy_133_2.jpg , it shouldn't hurt your wrists too much, and I reckon people complaining about MacBooks ergonomics and not MBPs, it's also possible that the missing part, that is to say the bottom of both MBs and MBPs,would add some thickness to the bottom structure,I'd think making it still thinner under your wrists, pretty much like MBA,maybe not that drastically because of the ports and slot drive positioned probably still under your right wrist on MBPs

I hope this is the Pro version - no more wasted space around the keyboard. The current 15" is a great system, but what a waste of space - they could have easily fit a numeric keypad in all that wasted space around the keyboard - slim it down and tighten it up - a 14" 16:9 screen would easily fit if you don't insist on such large bezels.

Don't you think it would be a bit annoying typing on a smaller keyboard, jutted to the left just so that there could be a numeric keypad that hardly anyone would ever use?

Now, if they'd just buy out VMWare for OS X and integrate it into the OS, that would be the final nail in the MS coffin...

Because every OS X user would run out and buy a copy of Windows and Office, and that would somehow drive MS out of business?

Maybe the 'brick' is a new cooling system? The thing uses disposable heat-sinks that it ejects like bullet casings as it overheats them :)

Or maybe it's managed to harness the brick-like obelisk from 2001 and shunt the insane internal temperatures out through a rift in the space-time continuum.

Or maybe they just give you a big aluminum brick to keep in the freezer, that you can take out an slide under the macbook pro when you start to smell burning silicone.

Those are all pretty awesome ideas, actually. :)

Imagine futuristic laser rifles that eject a AA battery after each shot. When you're out of "ammo", you could puck up the empty batteris and throw them into whatever is burning near the target zone. :p

It's not that it hurst my wrists, it's just that where the section that houses the trackpad and keyboard sits 'inside' the bottom case it digs into the side of my hand as I'm using it. I'm just thinking if this really is the 'brick' case then there may not be a seam at all and thus not hurt my delicate little hands?!

Newbie sharing excitement

Bought the now old Macbook back-to-school promo 3 weeks from now, connected to MacRumors and ran back immediately to the store to get refund. Been waiting anxiously while spending hours on this addictive site...

This new rumor is tha bomb though I don't expect the new MB will be 12 inch, as the 12 inch is dead in my opinion (and would be highly costly to produce). Will the top be aluminum ?? How about superdrive ??

Please Taiwanese, more leaks !! :D

mmm, hands? do you mean the level difference between the last row of keys and the wrist pad?

if that's the case, I find these two to be fairly similar in that area and I don't think the supposedly new Alu one would be two different

My roommate's laptop is like that. Had to fix something for her recently and the shifted keyboard really annoyed me. Alost as bad when your laptop's screen is broken and you only have an external and type on the laptop's keyboard. The touch typing markers on "F" and "J" and the touch pad are so off-center that it's seriously annoying.

I have the aluminum Apple Wireless keyboard at home and the kabled version at work. The USB on is annoying to me, because the left hand command keys are much larger because there's no "fn" key there. The bluetooth one is gread because it's exactly like the Macbook keyboard, but at an ergonmic angle. A wireless numeric keypad would be sweet though, a stylish laptop comanion and a great shortcut central for every audio, video, photo or software editor.

Nope. With the current ones the part of the case that the trackpad and keyboard are on sit 'on top' of the rest of the case, so there is a lip or an edge. Look at this pic (mine has also cracked like this incidentally!). It's just a very sharp edge to me.

I gotcha now, thanks for explaining, then I guess and hope there won't be a seam there, around the edge, though I hope this won't develop into a lot of hinges and dents as someone else suggested for the Pro that right now has a line of plastic around the top bottom of the lappy, wasn't it there for wifi reception as well?mmm,no, I think it's the one on the top around the screen bezel

Have you seen that there is something under that hand?
It seems to me that it is covering a sticker or something like that..
I'm sure somebody else noticed it, sorry for not reading the whole thread.

Saw that. You're looking at it from top down. if you see the image showing the (left) side with the ports, you can see the plastic peeling up revealing a sticker. it might be a product ID #, warning, etc. if i were taking a picture of smuggled shells, i'd cover that up too..

Keyboard part of case frame?

I use a Powerbook G4 DVI- the frame of the keys of the keyboard are part of the external case frame in this photo. Is this done with the MB Pros or MBs already?

Hmm, 9to5mac is reporting that Ben Folds is performing live at the Apple Store in Chicago tomorrow. Could these two facts be related? Maybe Apple will buck the trend of tuesdays and just launch new macbooks with a webcast event from Apple store(s)? Would throw everyone for a loop, I think.

Whoa! Ben Folds Five's biggest hit WAS "BRICK"!!!! I'm a genius!!
I think we got something here............

Who's with me?
