I will happily take Intel graphics if it means I can get a small version of the Air. I don't game, and it accelerates video fine, so that's me done.
Is it capable of Full HD decoding?

Who else is wondering how Apple is going to squeeze 10 hours of battery life out of a 2.4 GHz processor + 320M GPU when the laptop is ~3 times thinner than the MBP13 at its widest point and tapers off even more? I realize it lost the HDD and Optical Drive, but damn the whole thing must be one giant battery if that's going to work.

In this day and age, why should I have 3 computers and have to worry about to which I saved that working draft of my document ?
I have 1 computer. While I don't need a screaming fast cpu/gpu, I need something decent that's not 2 years late and a dollar short. While I don't need 16 GB of RAM, 4 GB is a decent minimum. Gigabit ethernet is cool for the office, since Wi-Fi isn't available here du to security concerns. etc... etc..
A 11.6" Air with a high res screen would be perfect for me. But I need a decent GPU (ATI/nVidia), I need a decent processor (sorry Atom/Zacate) and I need friggin RAM, and I often need to connect more than 1 USB device (keyboard, mouse, iPhone, iPod).
I don't get people that want to have 3 different computers to manage.
What is the stock SSD on the higher end MBA likely to be? I would only be comfortable with around 200 GB, but I'm not familiar with SSD prices, and so I don't know if this is a feasible hope.
... only that the Air has an optically coated glossy display that is superior to a standard (i.e. etched) matte screen!
A Core i5 processor.
A 320M or equivalent.
10hr advertised/6-7hr real world battery
If it has those specs, I will definitely buy one before the end of the year.
If it has anything less than that, I will pick up an Alienware M11x.
The Alienware really shows that Apple has been slacking when it comes to the MBA. There is so much more they could be doing but don't.
Are you serious ? An M11x is nothing like a Macbook AIR. It weighs a ton compared, and should be compared to a Macbook Pro (and even that is far fetched).
No, but it does give hints to what we might see in a 11.6" air, especially screen wise. 1366x768 resolution and WLED.
If they plug in a nVidia 320M and a led-lit keyboard, my VISA is getting some more bonus points!

I don't know about the 1366x768. Apple likes the high density Resos and 1366x768 wreeks of budget laptop or gamer trash laptop.
ooh, a little over a pound more... yawn. For that I can swap components with relative ease, I could have discreet video, more memory (EIGHT GIG), more storage... yeah I suppose you could compare it to a FIFTEEN inch notebook
2gb memory limit of the MBA makes it as useful to me as a Touch. It was a joke when it came out and still is a joke today. The fixation on weight when you get into the sub 5 area is really silly, by the time I load up my laptop bag the weight of the laptop is not really a concern, let alone a pound difference. throw in the fact it is either sitting on a table or the tray all its life and I would notice the weight even less. I am only concerned by its size.

Screenwise you've certainly got a point, hoping for a good resolution on that screen as well. Graphics wise, I still doubt a 320M would fit any MBA in terms of keeping it cool (combined with a cpu and a chipset : 3 chip solution instead of 2 chip before, minding all the known issues the previous MBA had with cooling).
The m11x does it. They could bump it up to a 13" display on that thing though. The bezel is huge.1366x768 on a 11.6" screen is 135 ppi. It's higher resolution than even the MBP 17".
why do people think we will be seeing a 16:10 format screen, the most likely resolution will be 1280x800 if not pushing to 1440x1080 if we are really lucky

I'm still hoping for 1440 x 900 on a 13" model. 1280 x 800 is so 2003.Hence why we were talking about the m11x's screen in the first place. 11.6" (just like this rumor) at 1366x768 (awesome resolution) and WLED for a backlight.
I'm pretty sure if the 11.6" rumor holds true that it's going to use the same screen.
