MBP and iMac updates should coincide. Both use almost the same hardware and the iMac can run any chip the MBP can (and even faster) since it has less restrictions on power consumption since there's no battery.

MBP please... I have been waiting since August and I really need a new notebook, please don't make me wait longer steve!! :D

Apple is on quite roll with new product releases. The stock if in better overall economy would be sky high. Every Tuesday since MW they've announced something, let's hope this week it is MBP's. I'd like a new case design too.

Hopefully new shipments aren't just 2G shuffles or time capsules, even though it would be nice to get one of each.

To be fair, these recent updates, while nice, aren't "event updates"

The only computer which needs a "event worthy" upgrade is the MacBook...but I doubt we'll see an event just for that.

Maybe an event with new MacBook, iPhone/iPod touch SDK, and Mac Mini stuff...but who knows!

If only this new MBP could have multi-touch on the screen like iPhone.
But we all know it won't :(

Um, Time Capsule. Due data "February".

Wouldn't that be one product that could logically be expected to be out this coming week.

It's not jazzy or sexy -- but then again anything jazzy or sexy would have premiered at Macworld.

Just my .02

Why no Multi-Touch Screen on new MBP?

Why no Multi-Touch Screen on new MBP?

Will someone please tell me why Apple won't do this? Why are they keeping the Multi-Touch strictly to the keypad?

i'm hoping for all the suffers who have been waiting for new MBPs will finally see the light this week, but i'm really hoping for an iMac update as that's what i'm in line for...

My guess is the iPhone SDK. Apple even announced it would be released at the end of Feb, and the reports that it is delayed aren't necessarily credible.

I want my new MacBook. Does anybody know if it would have a new case design? I'm planning on getting on my graduation for high school!0

LMFAO - MR has posted MBP update rumors that essentialy blanket cover every Tuesday this year. Keep doing that and you eventually end up right and look like a hero.

Once the new MBPs hit, it will be, "New iMacs next Tuesday?'' Even a broken clock is right two times a day people. :D

What is taking Apple so long to integrate Blu-Ray across it's line?!

Because they've got both feet firmly suck about 5 year behind. Case in point - combo drive on cheap MB and MM. Only once they've stopped shafting customers with that old p.o.s. can they move on and give their pro line ( supposedly the best platform for content creativity ) the optical drive it deserves.

I'm waiting for Tuesday evening's slew of threads about how disappointed everyone is with what was released, or how what was released didn't revolutionize the computer industry, or how it doesn't have sixteen FW800 ports, or ...

I feel like we've all gotten so used to Apple upgrading their machines periodically that we've learned to expect them. I don't see this sort of behavior with any other manufacturers.

What is that supposed to mean?

Ok .. let me break it down for you...

Ford are not going to put a 600bhp engine in a ***** car... when they can sell a shiny cool car for $$$ with the 600bhp engine it it?

Its business 101... increasing sales across multiple markets...

apple story plant

I am not sure what the "sources" are but it sounds like an Apple plant. The rumors and the delays have been going on so long that there must be some in the laptop market who are wondering if they can get by on a Vaio for the next year or so until the MBPs catch up. So with all the grumbling it would make sense for Apple to plant a tantalizing story of upcoming Feb announcement, imply a MBP update is coming and prevent any reverse-switchers.

By the way, while I am officially a switcher, I run both flavors on my network since some clients provide wintel machines. My policy is not buy another Wintel but this is getting ridiculous ...

this just in....

thousands of truck convoys carrying the apple logo have been spotted all over the world today .

sources say they seem to be carrying boxes the size of a macbook pro.

it all points to the imminent release of the MBP.

edit: we cannot now confirm this, as conflicting sources say that they could be the new updated lisa computer that has been delayed for 25 years, but speculate the boxes most lightly carry toasters......no...really, apparently consumption of toast has gone through the roof...especialy on tuesdays

cant.....wait....much......... long......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
