Maybe the MacBook Pro refresh was delayed since they were going to include HD DVD drives in it. The swap-out put the new MacBook release 3 weeks behind schedule. :D

I don't think so. If my memory serves me right, Apple is involved in Blu-Ray some how, so the HD-DVD wouldn't have even been an option, or a reason for the delay. Hopefully they come out this Tuesday!!! :apple:

OK exciting news, BUT.. What would you guys feel if Apple comes up with Montevina MBP three months later (in June)?? Gosh this whole thing is driving me nuts :-(

there will be no montevina in june for apple. think september.

Before we get entirely too presumptuous, isn't Time Capsule supposed to ship in February? Isn't that the more likely scenario, since it's already on the front page of the online Apple store and it's already been promised to ship this week?

I work in an office with 30 people.
20 of them are single and 20 of them have iphones and all of then say it boosts they "pulling capabilities" ...

Course, thats meterialistic cali for you...

"hey its Saturday, lets go out and spend some money on, like, anything dude"

I'm not denying that it "boosts pulling capablitilies". I'm just saying that it's touch screen interface, it's user-friendliness & it's top-of-the-line functionality surpasses any phone out there. It's the perfect phone. It helps get you laid and as a smartphone blows everything else away.

Are there conflicting reports like one source says iMac and one says MBP or is it that sources say "there are new products we just don't have a clue?"

I believe he was being facetious.

that being said, since a lot of people want blu-ray, and i'm not one of them, the issue lies around needing an extra chip. apple may hold until the montevina platform is ready, as it does not require this extra hardware.

Again, I have to have the same old bulky MBP with some minor updates like a multi-touch keypad. We deserve more for waiting this long.

Bulky MBP?! What? Please, show me a 15" professional quality laptop that is smaller and lighter than the MBP.

There's a reason the basic design of the pro laptop hasn't changed since the PB days, when you find something that works, you keep it.

Err, I think I know what he's trying to say so I'll clarify for him. By bulky he means old. He wants a redesign. Something fresh looking that doesn't have the old keyboard and nasty non-magnetic latch.

ya, it's pretty clearly not time capsule.

That's all I need to know. Thank you Arn. :)

I'm not saying that there is a smaller and lighter pro laptop then MBP; I'm just saying that Apple is way overdue on completely revising the MBP and introducing the All-New MacBook Pro. And, when they do, they should definitely include a screen that gives you the option to multi-touch if you wanted to.

hmm, not quite sure about this: why would companies update their products if they already work fine?

e.g nano G1, it was fine, why couldnt they have just re-done the internals (more storage/battery)

the white iMac, what was wrong with that?

Why no Multi-Touch Screen on new MBP?

Will someone please tell me why Apple won't do this? Why are they keeping the Multi-Touch strictly to the keypad?

Um because it is not practical or functional at all maybe???

If you can't distinguish Page 2 vs Page 1 information, you should stop reading Page 2.

zing! take that, random poster! ;)

In all seriousness though... when MR has page 1 rumors based on its own sources (as opposed to either page 2 rumors, or page 1 but just reporting what other sites say) its accuracy has traditionally been extremely high.

My guess is the iPhone SDK. Apple even announced it would be released at the end of Feb, and the reports that it is delayed aren't necessarily credible.

So your guess is that Apple is going to ship an SDK next week?? LOL, do you know what an SDK is by chance??? Not exactly something that will be sold in Apple stores lol

I placed an order for a BTO MPB on the 6th and last friday they told me that it was still in the being built phase and might ship either friday or monday. If they release a new one on tues and I get the older model I might just have to go beat up SJ's car with a crowbar.
