No offense intended here BUT.....

Some of us find this interesting, and still have lives - Its something we are interested in, and is fun for us. I go to clubs / bars too.... But thats not all there is to life.

PS, for someone that often brags about being "Highly Influential" to apple with 1835 some odd Xserves (that would make one of the worlds largest supercomputers, yet I have yet to find out where they are "hidden"), you don't have much room to talk.

Of course, No offense intended :D

They don't like it up 'em. he he

imaginary lives are cool too!

I see nothing wrong with being excited with anticipation on the upcoming arrival of Tiger. Everyone can also have there own separate life also.

I would have thought that either eclipsing 64-bit XP and/or not having Tiger's thunder stolen by it would be of more concern to Apple.

Add to that the company's 29th birthday on the first and the ThinkSecret story....

I am in the April 1st camp for sure. Here's hoping. Life, or no life, I will be buying a copy as soon as they get here to Thailand. Unfortunately, that is usually a few weeks after the rest of the world but I could always nip down to Singapore if I find I can't wait...

Wait a minute!

Wait a minute! These rumors about Tiger and 10.3.9 forgot to factor in one thing...............timing.

Today is Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Tiger is said to be announced Friday, April 1, 2005, this Friday. Now, I don't understand how Apple could let this happen how 10.3.9 and 10.4.0 within two days of each other. It doesn't make sence to me.

I can't see a problem there. Keep in mind that even if Apple announced Tiger this week, it wouldn't be available immediately (Unless Apple offered a download option which is unlikely). Apple has to have Tiger CDs/DVDs pressed and ship them to stores which takes a few days.

You should talk to the people who installed 10.3.0 and had firewire harddrives with a certain type of controller in them. A lot of them lost all their data due to one of Apple's little bugs. That's why 10.3.1 came out so quickly. Personally I'm happy with 10.3.x at least until 10.4.1 comes out.

This is why I love the "carbon copy clone" tool. My Boot disk (partition) is the exact same size as an extra physical disk in my G4 Powermac. The extra 20g disk is only in the case for the purpose of being a backup. once a week I manually clone my boot partition over to the 20 gig drive, and continue forward.

This extra drive also comes in handy when I want to try out new software, or patches. I plan on doing a Tiger upgrade onto this disk first, and if everything goes well, clone to my normal boot partiton.

Macnews.net.tc has reported that Apple has seeded Tiger build 8A425. The article mentions that seed notes list a few minor bugs.

UPDATE: There is word that the build is Final Candidate 1

My understanding is that April 1st will be the day that Apple will announce the actual release date of Tiger. The release of 10.3.9 could come at any time. Many have said that Apple will release Tiger on Friday April 15th.

I'm still seesawing between thinking its going to be released at NAB or at coinciding with the event or they may just postpone it until July 1.
