You guys will all see on Tuesday, when Phil Schiller shows the actual iPhone 6 with only 5 rows of apps. I wouldn't keep trying to prove my point if I wasn't sure this device is not genuine.

----------

These are not my theories. They're the theories of Steve Hemmerstoffer, a high up at nowhereelse.fr, the primary source of all of the iPhone 6 leaks. Just check out his twitter: https://twitter.com/stagueve/with_replies

By the way, the guy you linked believes that the 2,915 mah battery is intended for the 4.7" iPhone 6, and the 1,810 mah we've seen is for a revamped iPhone 5S. Not crazy at all...

How do you propose that magically works, then? I'd love to hear this nonsense.

It's either tied to the serial number or UDID. I don't know how it works exactly. I just know that wifi-only devices can also be killed. And if it connects over wifi, the phone in these shots has wifi enabled.

No he does not. I read the article he posted today. He clearly says that the 2,915 mah battery is for the 5.5" version. That tweet you're likely referring to is sarcasm.

He said, she said, I said, they said...

Noone cares, folks... just wait and stop the incessant, tiresome debating over who is "right" and "wrong". You're like 5 year olds arguing in a playground.

GROW UP!!

If you don't know how it works, maybe you shouldn't claim to understand how it works.

And just because it shows a wifi icon doesn't actually mean there is connectivity to the Internet. Or that Apple is aware of the serial number or UDID. Surely they have distributed iPhone 6's to certain key partners in the run up to Tuesday's reveal, so one singular device isn't going to raise any red flags necessarily.

Again, your argument doesn't hold water and you will be eating crow come Tuesday.

The problem is...heheh

Apple's iOS killswitch does not require a cellular network

AAPL stopped using the "Pull'em down!" crap *long* ago...because it was a sure tip-off that whatever was leaked was legit...so much so it practically became a meme.

In this world of globalized production at the scale of millions, the evidence has shown, time and time again since the iPhone 3, it is simply *not possible* for Apple to stop parts leaks of things they are already building...the *only* surprises AAPL has had in recent years is of stuff they've *not moved into production/things only known about in Cupertino*.

Look...we go thru this Kübler-Ross cycle every single release. Just skip to Step 5 and save everyone some time.

I've been building stuff on iOS 8 since WWDC. It's running 8. It is certainly not a "Goophone" no matter how much confirmation-bias 'Zaprudering' you use to convince yourself otherwise.

This is what Apple built. There is no rational basis whatsoever to believe otherwise.

There is nothing wrong with the clock/clock hands; it is simply the angle of the picture and noise. Every shot has the clock at a different time...because as on iOS 7 and not on the clones, that icon updates the time, in realtime, on higher end devices.

He's covering the back of the phone for a reason: the IMEI/ECID is stamped directly onto the back of production models and wisely, these folks figured people would be Zaprudering and suss it out.

The *only* thing Apple has to preserve this "non-surprise" (as we've seen pieces of this thing coming out for months) is to take advantage of human nature and let irrational Internet forum types sow doubt, because "Apple would NEVER ______" even tho Apple always does, every time.

Can someone PLEASE tell me that I'm NOT THE ONLY ONE who noticed that the Clock's FONT in the LOCKSCREEN is a BIT BOLD... It makes me doubt about this iPhone being legit...

OK....YOU'RE not the only one!!!

I think others HAVE mentioned the Clock as being dodgy, in particular the elongated hands on it.

Show your work

Highly doubtful, but again if I'm wrong, I will completely admit it.

Seriously. Outside of "I've got a feeling" and "this *can't be cus i don't wanna*" what do you have that roundly disproves the catalog of videos in the last 24 hours?

Also curious: What current phone model do you have?

Flat in all directions like a Porsche... Oh wait! (sic). BTW, how many people complain that Porsche's design has barely changed in many decades?

Heaps actually. I read all the car magazines and every time a new 911 comes out, or just a derivative of it, letters always stream in saying the designers at Porsche have been asleep for decades!

actually it could just as easily be real. If this is real then the slightly questionable quality could be down to the fact that it is a prototype used for field testing and thus explains why someone was able to get hold of it perhaps??

it isn't. You are mistaken. Looking too hard.

I just took a picture of my iOS 8 5S' lock screen and, wow, on a darkish background, due to a bit of light bleed, it looks a 'bit bold'...

Try it yourself. That's the nice thing about this stuff...you can overcome you confirmation biases with a little bit of testing :)

Next up: Funny clock hands looking too long when over certain numbers and taken fron an angle due to perspective warping...

Guys...its the crap lighting. C'mon now. This isn't a pro-shot video.

I guess I'll run through the proof.

- Music icon colors are flipped
- Clock hands are too long - It's not the camera angle
- More than one of these supposed phones have been posted online
- Green color of the Phone and Messages apps are pre-iOS 7.1
- The build number of the supposed iOS 8 this phone is running on is lower than that of iOS 8 Beta 5, but seems to include elements we haven't seen.
- The Touch ID sensor appears to be made of plastic
- The aluminum enclosure does not appear to be as high quality as recent leaks
- The Touch ID unlock animation is off
- Touch ID takes too long to register
- The background on the phone is not a stock Apple background, yet it is seen on all 3 of the phones that have "leaked" out.
- The Apple on the back is printed on, not a separate entity.
- There are no additional apps, songs, pictures, or videos on the device, yet something is taking up 700 mb of storage.

Need I say more? And my current phone is a 5s.

Free space always shows as less than capacity even on empty drives, try formatting a USB stick with disk utility and checking how much space there is.

True, but not 700mb worth of space. And that's not the os either.

I hope Macrumors censors or somehow blocks this "My body is ready" crap.
It's really, really effin' annoying!

It must be the latest "in-joke" or "meme", that would be totally lost on people NOT in the "in clique" of teh higher echelons of superior nerd humour...

Such a weird sounding phrase ... it sounds daft.

Quite funny to read a lot of the comments here.

Seeing things like "Can't wait for the people who say it is fake to eat their words and be wrong for saying it! HAHA" is funny because they fail to realize something can be fake (like this phone, pretty much, obviously is) but be very close to the design we will see.

Do I think this is the design? Of course I do. More or less this is pretty much going to be the design. I have no doubt in my mind about that. But do I think this is a REAL iPhone 6 off the assembly line? Nope. As been stated, there are just too many things that scream fake. Hardware wise I can excuse some things because it could be a device that didn't make it through final QA. Though there are numerous software quirks that scream fake, that I highly doubt Apple broke on purpose or changed suddenly. The clock being one. You can't convince me that Apple somehow did something completely dumb and "break" the design of a clock to where the hands go all the way through the numbers.

So I am one of the ones who "scream FAKE" but I do believe that the design will more or less look like this.

My body was ready for this comment.

1 day and 11 hours and 28 minutes left til Tuesday. My body will in fact be, ready.

I think it's because there are no Chinese "glyphs" for the name some apple apps have, like passbook (a name apple created), but things like contacts, phone and calendar there are.

I have had a Commonwealth Bank of Australia Passbook for over 40 years. AS far as I know, Apple had nothing to do with naming that... ;-)

How does it feel, being a slave to a tired, stale meme? Why not think up your own? :)

Pretty Polly... *strokes* -- squawwwwwwkkkk!

Please, just shut up.
Why do keyboard warriors like you have to try and be right all the gorram time? Get some friends.

Do a quick google search. It's a saying that geeks have been using for new hardware for a long time. Started when a guy was introducing the wii-fit and awkwardly uttered the phrase as he stepped up on it.
