It would be awesome of Apple if they release it this summer, my iPhone 4's home button is getting worse day by day!

It's all coming together. :D :D :D

Personally I was hoping for the exact same form factor and size of the 4S, I think it is perfect. I really don't want a larger device or screen. But with all the cries for a bigger one and the S III now on the cusp I'm not surprised to see the larger screen.

My guess is an announcement late June with release Mid-July. Maybe even a bit sooner. No way this goes until October.

headphone jack at the bottom? i hate that. always annoyed me on the iPod. ull have to put it upside down in your pocket

Yeah, it'd suck to have to put upside down in your pocket. It'll make it difficult to read anything...while it's in your pocket...

Also, hold your current phone in your hand like you're texting or reading something. Now slip it in your pocket. Fifty bucks says you put it in there upside down, because it's natural to do so. That way, when you pull it back out, it's right-side-up again.

Where have you been for the last two years? We knew every little detail about every new Apple products for at least that long.

Never this early pre release, unless it's released this summer. But anything can happen. The only rumor with pics I closely beleive so far are the maps.

GUYS, the picture is FAKE.

- No FCC markings on white iphone.
- Fading 'iPhone' on black iphone
- Blurred pixelation on lower left hand corner of white iphone.

It's a leak, it's not ready for public use. They don't need to have FCC markings, or have it look like the finished product when obviously this isnt for consumer eyes yet. For all we know this could just be random prototype parts, however it is more likely that it is the real deal and we are staring at the next gen iPhone.

My fingers are crossed that these are decoy leaks. The change to a smaller dock connector is a deal breaker for me. I've got too much invested in existing docking devices and accessories. An "adapter" won't solve the problem either.

If these turn out to be the real deal, it looks like the iPhone 4S will be my last iPhone for some time to come.

BS. I will bet all my Apple stock when th new iPhone is released it does not look like this or is a much more refined product.

Oh I don't doubt it will be more refined and primed up for public release. But it seems pretty clear to me Apple is going with partial aluminum backing to make room for more in a thinner design.

Everyone who says the backplate is ugly is absolutely wrong... Because there is no backplate.

Ladys and Gentlemen, this is the first unibody iPhone. In the Macrumors picture, you can clearly see that the back and the sides of the black model are the same colour/finish, and there are no seams. The white model seems different, but that's probably because the lighter aluminium of the back came out so yellow in the picture.

Very cool.:D

i have to laugh when I see people hating the new design. You do realize its just a slightly larger version of the i4?

Why is it more likely this is the real deal and not just one of many prototypes?

You'd seriously wimp out over a new dock connector? I think it is long overdue.

The machining of the speaker and mic holes looks terrible. I hope a company that put so much thought into hiding the camera LED on their MB/MBA/MB Pros and machining the SIM holder on the iPhone 4/4S pays more attention.

I agree. I suspect that with increased body size they might be concerned about the case rigidity. As I understand, the metal side band is what holds the phone together. If it's not rigid enough, the screen will be cracking right in your hand (without even dropping it).

This appears to be the final design.

It looks beautiful. I'm sure most of you would who don't like it would change your mind if the phone was presented in a good professional picture, or if you saw it in person. All the choices and changes appear to be legitimate design changes/improvements (from the speaker grills, to the front camera placement, to the head phone jack movement)

Most interesting of all, this phone appears to have a mag-safe connector. How ****ing cool is that? Magnets in the iPhone! Finally!

Deja vu, anyone?
(as with iP 4)

Not really. I liked the iPhone 4 design but worried about the antenna design (and rightfully so as I found out). This looks like an iPhone 4 designed by someone other than Apple, kind of how so many ultrabooks look like cheaper copies of the MacBook Air.

The Apple logo is barely visible on the back of the black one. I don't think that's the final design.

Also, is the consensus that the "two-tone" back is designed to make the phone less slippery? It looks like a big rubbery grip on the back to me.
