This looks stunning. Why did this get downovoted to -35? This site is full of weirdos...

If that's the new iPhone as on page one (doubt it), it looks like utter uninspired crap.

You are right those mockups look out of this world - but I serious doubt we will get such a phone now.

You guys are absolutely silly here.

All this hand wringing about colors, tint and reflections ignores the fact that most people will run out and buy a case to cover the phone immediately after purchases. IPhones could come in flat black or drab olive and nobody would care or even see the colors on a regular basis. Talk about making mountains out of mole hills.

I wish stop having information on the ARM based toys ( iPhone, iPad, Android... ) and get information on next real machine - like new MacBook Pro and Air's

There was a week or so back where we had nothing but rumors on the new Macs. Where were you then? Those threads are still current. Maybe contribute to those? This iPhone leak is very relevant, and pretty huge actually.

Sadly, I'm not interested in a longer iPhone.

Nor am I. But judging from the pictures it seems they added more screen in the same size area of the current iPhone meaning not a longer phone same size phone with larger screen. Notice the front camera above the speaker on the front and very little space between the home button and the screen and the speaker grill on the top. Same size phone or almost the same size phone length wise and width wise with a larger screen.

I'm a lil bit confused, will the new iphone be revealed on the 11 june?

and is there any chance that they will update their mbps?

Anyone who has followed Apple's design trends would know the parts shown here are not something Apple would release as a product. A few points....

1. Apple likes to keep things symmetrical. The holes for the speakers at the bottom of the bezel differ in size due to the placement of the headphone jack. Apple would keep those speaker ports the same size.

2. Apple prefers the look of raw aluminum. The Aluminum body with a black finish isn't something Apple would do.

As a previous poster mentioned, these appear to just take all the current rumors and put them into physical parts. The design of the backs point directly to a render posted here just 2 weeks ago. At best, these were very early prototypes, but more likely they are just knockoff parts from a Chinese company. Keep in mind that last fall we saw a flood of "iPhone 5" cases hit the market that indicated a larger device, only to have the iPhone 4S come to market.

1. Then why isthe iPad speaker grill and iPhone 4S front camera offset? They'll break symmetry when there's a reason to, like moving the headphone jack to its rightful place.

2.

PS: Machined aluminum pieces are a little more complicated to produce than molded plastic/rubber cases.

these look legit. looks like brushed aluminum bordered by two strips of gloss coated steel. that would be in line with their modernist aesthetic as far as materials. probably looks pretty different in person. maybe the speaker grills are like that for some reason relating to the new placement of the audio jack, like waterproofing or something.

It is highly unlikely that Apple will show the next-generation iPhone in June at the WWDC. The most likely scenario is that Apple has switched to a fall release for the iPhone hardware, giving them more time to finish up development of the next generation iOS software (a developer beta of iOS 6 should be revealed at WWDC with some of the unidentified sessions being tied to new features in the next-generation iOS).

Moreover, the availability of the right cellular chips for the iPhone don't make a June release likely.

There's a much highly possibility of Apple releasing new Mac hardware around the WWDC. Which models? It's all speculation. We'll probably have some better clues a few days before the 11th, as channel inventory dries up and lead times for shipping from the Apple.com store jump dramatically.

If you look at the buyer's guide, the MacBook Pro isn't really a prime candidate for getting updated at WWDC. The Air, mini, iMac, and Mac Pro would be the more likely candidates for a June refresh.

In any case, we'll all find out on June 11th. No one here will know about the nature of Apple's announcement(s) any earlier.

That's actually not true at all. Your theory depends on the premise that people bought the iphone simply because it had an apple logo on it. I don't believe that was ever the case. They bought it because it was the best-looking and most fashionable phone on the market. If apple starts making ugly devices, samsung and the other big boys will eat their lunch.

I don't see the point of the glass bars at the back.

I know in the original iPhone they had metal and plastic because of the antenna's and then in the 3G/3GS they made it plastic to get around that (which sucked because it cracked alot). They improved that by making it glass on the 4/4S.

Why go back to 2 materials with this version? Some people complained that the glass on the 4/4S could shatter on the back but won't that still be a problem with this new design? It still has glass on the edges at the back plus the screen. This design doesn't really add anything of value.

I'm all for a solid aluminum back if Apple can figure out a way to do it and let the antenna's work properly. If not, I'd prefer they leave it glass. Looks much cleaner.

I never use a case.

Aluminium is thinner than glass. By making most of the back aluminium they can increase the internal volume of the phone without increasing the dimensions, or make the phone thinner while maintaining the same internal dimensions.

Keep in mind that last fall we saw a flood of "iPhone 5" cases hit the market that indicated a larger device, only to have the iPhone 4S come to market.

It was rumored that a redesigned iPhone was in the pipeline, and the "4S" was a backup as Apple had difficulties with battery drain. Apparently, rumors stated a Qualcomm tri-band LTE/GSM/CDMA chipset was under wraps and in use with a new iPhone. These rumors were fairly solid, and third party manufacturers jumped the gun with cases. As an iOS ADC member (my membership just expired and not interested in renewing), we were informed that "Siri" would be available on the iP4 and the new iP. However, this was quickly changed when the "4S" was released.

Yes, rumors, but given what we knew and saw, I don't doubt that a redesigned iPhone 5 was in the pipeline and pulled last minute and the 4S was released, with "Siri" marketed for consumer interest (general consumers care less about inside components and more about new features/form for obvious reasons, marketing "Siri" was genius to push exclusive sales for the "4S").

No way will Apple announce all of that at WWDC. The keynote is only 1.5 hours and most of it will be dedicated to software. I can see announcing new Macs but not a new phone.

As long as what we see isn't the finished product (I don't believe it is).

WWDC 2009 did exactly what I listed
