Why would anyone want this? So that in two software updates when the phone becomes a slow brick, you sit there touching and touching the tactile-less feel button wondering if it's registering?
 
Opinions about the camera hole?

Looks like the flash will be A LOT bigger than currently, and the camera hole itself looks alot bigger, hopefully higher res and a huge aperture, combined with the 4S lens system, this camera'll kick ass!

Is it just me that hopes this new Dock Connector will be more sturdy, and NOT MADE OF RUBBER? those cables break on me after just a few months of use.

I'd much rather have a **** phone than an iPhone, as I'd much rather have a **** car I don't care bumping than some boring SUV for pimps.

You can laugh all you want but take any designer (and I am not one), or anyway most any designer, people who have a trained and talented eye for aesthetics and ask them how this prototype looks to them, they ll tell you it looks like like crap. It might not look like like crap to you, but then again you might be someone who watches fox news and considers it journalism.

Your claims are very funny. If you care to elaborate, please give us some percentages of the million iphones sold that were sold to porn stars, pimps starlets etc. Surely that bracket of users is vast, but all the rest status symbol users?

Maybe we all just enjoy good products that one can work with?

You seem to have found your $ 20 ***phone and happy with that set up.

Stay with that and leave people who appreciate a good product and can make thoughtful comments alone.
 
I am eagerly waiting for this iPhone since it will be my first iPhone that completes my Apple ecosystem which already includes the Base Stations (Express and Extreme), Time Capsule, Apple TV, iPod classic, iPad, Mac mini, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro.

Here's a quick measurement set in Photoshop. All the values are in inches x10 (PS wouldn't do actual size) so 24.85 = 2.485 inches.

It's not perfect because the only known value was the size of the sim card tray (hopefully).

Still hoping for an all-metal case...

But it looks pretty good. If it has LTE, a 4 core processor and reasonable battery life I'll buy one and so will 900 million other people.

My daughter wants my 4S so she's hoping for all of the above also!

While I'm not crazy about the design. I was hoping for a little more of a change. They desperately need this to release this summer because not being able to talk and surf the net at the same time on 3G BLOWS!!! I'm growing very tired of this 4S.

Why did they stop there? They just make it longer. Why not make it wider too? A taller phone looks ugly. They better not eff up on the new macbook pro. :confused:
 
iOS 6 better knock it out of the park to make up for this fugly POS design of the iPhone 5. Seriously does it really take 2 years to come out with such a redesign for a company of Apple's size and resources? Unacceptable.

don't you guys think that there is something wrong with the proportion of the unibody back panel an the front panel... pack panel is higher as the front one... and the front panel on the last picture on the left is wider than the unibody back part...

It is not impossible that Apples comes out with a 4.5" screen! If the bezel gets really small, the increase in the overall phone size can be minimized.

i wish it will be like that... wider and higher 4.3 or 4.5 inch screen in a phone not much bigger than the actual one...
i don't prefer a slim und high design with a screen only increased in hight

The measurements aren't perfect, for one, they could have changed the size of the sim tray. Also, even if it's the same size, the angle distorts it a bit.
 
Anodised aluminium colours

The backs are most likely black and white poly carb or even glass (but I doubt it) and the larger panel in centre is most likely Anodised aluminium, satin silver for white version and black for black version.

I wonder if the large aluminium back panel is for heat dissipation, recyclability, or even NFC technology or all/some of the above given most likely bump in GPU and CPU too required for larger screen.

Why is everyone up in arms about the looks - cases hide many iPhones I see and I am sure the UI should be more important than the "I hate the two tone back"

I also assumed the side bands of the white would be white, not silver, like the black's is black. It does look a bit awkward from this angle (the white one, that is)

Since they are using the antennae band with 4 cuts again...I think the material is so that the antennae on top and bottom can work. Since it is a "unibody" band and back....if the back were all metal the signal would be messed up. As the picture shows, the metal is in the middle to avoid the antennae and the glass on top and bottom allow the antennae to function properly.
