I do. Nowhere else to really put it, is there? Too heavy for shirt pocket, too bulky for suit trouser pocket.

I don't think it is too heavy for the pants pocket.

On a side note, what the crap is this site coming to when people downvote what pocket a person puts their phone in?

That's just my point - I don't get any sense of 'self-importance' from a consumer product.

Your claim that it's made for a 'banal audience', and that you are something other than banal because of your 'discriminating' taste in phone design, is what is so laughable.

My guess is that he, blow45, had to look up how to spell banal.

Those speaker/mic holes show they are pictures from an iFon.
The surface finish of the metal piece is obviously an iFon.
Looks like an iFon.
Sounds like an iFon.
Smells like an iFon.

Wait...maybe is an iFong.

Finally, the supplier claims that the part is showing up not only in black and white, but also in two other unspecified colors, although it is unclear whether those colors would make it to final production.
I wonder if these unspecified colors are also black and white, but full-glass backs.

It's probably been suggested in this giant thread, but perhaps the metal band on the back is for inductive charging?

Here's a quick measurement set in Photoshop. All the values are in inches x10 (PS wouldn't do actual size) so 24.85 = 2.485 inches.

It's not perfect because the only known value was the size of the sim card tray (hopefully).

I took rough measurements in Photoshop and determined rough ratios and compared them against my iPhone 4. I'm seeing the physical width of the iPhone being the same but the height is bigger to accommodate the taller screen.
This is surely a design compromise by Apple to keep the "thumb" ease of use but bowing to the need of a bigger screen.
Personally I really wish the iPhone went to 4.5 or 4.7" inches and kept the aspect ratio the same (i.e.: the phone gets wider and taller) and surely to LTE.
The Galaxy S3 is looking really sexy in terms of hardware though. I'm not relishing the thought of maybe moving to Android but I'm intrigued with more flexibility there since I'm a jail breaker on each iPhone I get. That I cannot live without (I have my reasons).

Considering these parts are leaking now just like the iPad 3 parts did about 3-4 weeks before it came out my money is on a June (WWDC?) announcement and not October. I think the iPhone 4S October delay was based on the GSM/CDMA consolidation and Apple is back on the regular June/July release cycle. Finished parts like these don't leak 5 months in advance...

Considering the amount of traffic this site gets, MacRumors is awful at getting information regarding rumors. It always seems like they're referencing 9to5mac.

iOS 6 better knock it out of the park to make up for this fugly POS design of the iPhone 5. Seriously does it really take 2 years to come out with such a redesign for a company of Apple's size and resources? Unacceptable.

Oh please. We go through this same song and dance with every iteration of iPhone. "It's fugly!" "I ain't buying it!" "Off to Android!" You'll be back. :D :D :D

iOS 6 is likely to be a real barn burner. I'm surprised Apple has been apple to keep it under wraps almost entirely, save for a few leaks on the Maps functionality. Ah well, we shall see soon enough.

this will not be the released version of the phone. Apple will not do away with the 30 pin.

Care to eat your words and make a wager? Anyone with a clue will realize these parts are legit.

4.5 or 4.7 inch screen is too much and too big for the general masses. Also 5 months leaked pics doesn't mean anything.. this can be older prototype but close to final specs. Also remember the amount of inventory they will build up leading to launch. THey were very good with iPad 3's inventory than iPad2. If anything they are improving their supply chain even more and compared to competitors they are leading the charge.

Looks like more of the same... The S3 is intriguing, but Apple has a strong foothold in my home "infrastructure" as they strive to do. (iTunes, MAC, iCloud an so forth) I'm really on the fence about trying the new Galaxy, the iPhone 4S was a slap in the face to Apple loyalist, what a wasted effort to buy time. If the 5 isn't spectacular they're going to have even more people jumping ship to other platforms. These release cycles are far too slow, and again, more of the same with nothing too revolutionary.

its interesting reading what Tim tells us in the D10 conference....

indirectly:
Siri will get much better in the next months...stay tuned...
with facebook there is something really big coming...
there is a completely new product line coming ...

I would bet that the white will not look like that. It has to be a film or something. Apple would never make the center of the iPhone a puke color.
It's obviously silver colored steel with a light reflection, not a "puke" color.

Parts look very intricate- doubt it's fake
Not to say it is the actual production phone, just leaning towards these are pretty accurate...

I plan to get next iPhone no matter what simply because of the infrastructure, seamless connectivity and equity of faith I have developed over the years with apple. Trying not to sound like a fanboy, but I do trust they will do a decent job...

okay, it's a controlled leak...
im sure ...
"We're going to double down on secrecy on products. I'm serious!"

how to double down on the actual apple product secrecy?
think of it...

i believe they spend a lot of money for that...
why don't produce a "thing" like we see on our "leak pictures" to make everybody believe this is the new iPhone? and than come out with a entirely other design?

Right, here you see how they changed the form: http://versusio.com/en/apple-iphone-5-64gb-vs-apple-iphone-4s-64gb

I wished they put the larger screen in the same case or a larger scren edge to edge in the same case

Reasons not to believe:

1. If these were legit, wouldn't Apple legal have taken these down like, immediately? They are legendary for going after real leaks. Can't see them sitting this out.

2. Why is the "iPhone" font different on the two phones?

3. Wouldn't the curve of the camera lens more closely match the curve of the corner?

4. Speaker grill asymmetry.

But, it is a pretty nice looking device, so wouldn't bet the farm they're fake, although that's got to be where the safe money is.

Hmm...

I think that this design is not showing the true potential and innovation of Apple.

Wow, what a disappointment. I'd hoped they would ditch this iPhone 4 design. Instead they're tripling down on it. It'll still sell like hotcakes, I'm sure, as the iPhone brand has so much inertia...but if I buy it, it will be in spite of its industrial design, not because of it, that's for sure.
