First off I stated previously that Soundhound app gave it away w new iTunes links from Beatles songs. Second, the Beatles are and will always be the best band in the history of mankind. They more than deserve the hype.

Beatles do deserve the hype. Beatles on iTunes? Not so much. Everybody who wanted to have them could get them into iTunes (or elsewhere) in a million of ways. Those who really wanted it have had Beatle songs/albums in their collections for years.

Maybe some form of Rock Band game is coming to itunes for computer/iOS devices? That would be a nice mix; to be able to download rock band tracks through itunes store and play the game through a computer (through AppleTV perhaps). I guess the computer would make more sense because yo could use blutooth instruments. I'm not sure if you could sync them to an ipod touch or ipad.

If so, then perhaps the Beatles Rock Band game, being part of that is coinciding with release on itunes?

I am a huge Fan of the Beatles music and have had their music on my iTunes for years. :D I was listening to them on vinyl in the 60's, so don't find the Beatles on iTunes to be the least bit exciting. I hope Apple has more than this or I won't find their announcement hard to forget.

That's exactly what I suggested earlier in the thread. Anyone who really cares that much about the Beatles won't be impacted at all by this kind of announcement The only way I see a rabid fan caring is if they unearthed some never-before-heard album or concert or whatever.

My hope is they announce some awesome stuff, and the Beatles is the "one more thing." That would be perfect.

The clocks and their arms aren't in anyway comparable.

The clocks are all in sync to when the announcement is in those cities ... at 7am in LA it is 10AM in NewYork ...

Michael Jackson bought the rights to the Beatles Music years ago ... The announcement is Apple has purchased the rights from Jackson's estate.

Just like when MJ bought the rights years ago ... the News was Worldwide.

To Apple this is Huge because they will control all commercial usage on the whole catalogue ... that is why MJ bought it.

Paul McCartney tried to buy the Music Rights back from MJ when he had money issues but MJ said no dice ... the rights to the Beatles Music was and is still valued at more than 1 Billion Dollars.

so yes it could be just the Beatles and nothing more

If this about the Beatles, trust me, I've already forgotten about tomorrow, and tomorrow isn't even here yet. LOL!

This is pretty much spot on. The Beatles on iTunes can or might be irrelevant to almost each and every one of us.

It doesn't matter.

I think everyone knows or should know how important this has been and will be to Steve Jobs. It's personal for him, and has been for years. Of course he's going to crow about it, regardless of what anyone else thinks. The news of Beatles on iTunes is not going to come across in a passing press release. Steve will make it a show, because it is a personal triumph for him, after years of negotiation and work.

Now then: There's no knowing for sure that Beatles are coming to iTunes tomorrow. How many times in the past has this been speculated?? If they do, fine. If they don't, most of us don't care. The only thing I think everyone can agree upon is the hope that a Beatles announcement isn't the only thing we get tomorrow. If so, then yes, it will be a major letdown.

Yep, you and I are both spot on with this. I'll gladly toot my own horn.

I've been waiting to throw this link out there. Read the FAQs, they are pretty entertaining.
The Beatles Never Broke Up

Too little, too late.

After the re-release of all the remastered albums last year, is there anyone alive who doesn't already own whatever Beatles albums they want?

I don't think the surviving Beatles or the estates of those who have passed are going to be making much off of iTunes. Could be wrong though (and hope that I am).

They won't but EMI will.

"Tomorrow's just another day" is a song by Madness! At last!! MADNESS ON ITUNES!!!

(if they already are, not letting that get in the way of the joke)

...or the brackets in the original title: "Tomorrow's (Just Another Day)"

Still, good gag - I made it on the MacWorld thread too.

This isn't even reasonably interesting news, and I love the Beatles.

This may trump the Apple Hifi + iPod Socks event in lameness!

I wish I saw that event. :)

I for one am excited to see what is going on tomorrow, and will not be let entirely let down when it is the Beatles - and nothing else.

I would probably need to buy adult diapers for the rest of the day if this happened.

You people are thinking too small...

This is Apple we're talking about, not just some ordinary company. My theory is that there's going to be a new Beatles album! Steve's team of god-like programmers, along with his buddies at Pixar, have succeeded in digitally modeling John Lennon and George Harrison -- their bodies, their voices, and their minds. Virtual John and virtual George wrote some new songs with Paul and Ringo, and the reunited band cut a new album at a top-secret studio bunker half a mile underground at Pixar's headquarters. If the new Beatles album is successful, the programmers will begin modeling other deceased recording artists. This is going to change everything...

im with u on that

Who cares about the beetles on iTunes bs. Honesly those who are fans are have their songs on cd ripped into their computer and those who want beetles are not enough to warrant a special announcement!!! Jeez the artist have an overwhelming sense of importance.

i said the same thing!

I'm unsubscribing from this thread now.
This is the most activity for a thread with the least solid data.

It is the Money Apple will make if anyone wants to use the music commercially ... that is where the Beatles catalogue is worth over 1 Billion Dollars

Could also include a 2 for 1 download offering ... 1 day only

About the clocks:

Paul is London, Ringo is California backwards, John looks a bit like New York (appropriate), and Tokyo is... George's head? That one doesn't really match up.

All of these locations are very appropriate: They were based in London for most of their career, New York was their first US visit which sparked the absolutely insane part of Beatlemania, their last tour location was in California, and their playing at Tokyo signified that Beatlemania was a worldwide phenomenon.
