Because, of course, by putting The Beatles on iTunes, Steve Jobs is PERSONALLY forcing you to buy their music. I mean, wow. It's not like he's just expanding their selection for people that aren't conceited enough to think people in a completely unrelated discussion care what music you listen to.

If you don't feel this will a day to remember, then that is totally 100% fine. I myself think Apple is overhyping this.

The problem with his post is that he seemed to be dictating how Apple should run their business (as are you). People let their personal opinions of this issue get in the way of the big picture. This is a huge accomplishment for Apple and means a lot for the music industry in general, and yet people come into this thread embroiled in self-centered rage practically screaming that Apple isn't doing exactly what they want.

Understood. I don't mean to come off saying they should do this or do that. What I mean to say is that I agree that this is over-hyping this and it really doesn't apply to much of the customers who use iTunes. This might be a huge success for the company but if it does not apply to their customers who see events as large updates in how iTunes distributes music, then it is a waste of investors money and stakeholders time.

Once again personal opinion and merely stating this as review.

If you don't give a crap, then, well, you really don't have to post. Bitchy posts like this don't really accomplish anything except to make you seem like a whiny little kid. This community's self-centered expectations are what overhyped this, two sentences on Apple's website don't exactly mean they're predicting the second coming.

Dang dude... Forget your maxipad? Why dont you chill out? You have a real problem with Apple getting critcism.

If that's all this is...

Then Apple has lost any "hype" credibility they had, and will have finally jumped the shark. I sincerely hope this isn't all of the Beatles, the Beatles are 40-50 years ago, and frankly not that big a deal to those of us who were born outside of that time.

They would also be doing a huge disservice to all other artist on iTunes, why don't they get front page on the Apple website? This can't be all this is can it?

I hope it's really much bigger than this, but if it's just Beatles, "A day I'll never forget", hardly.... I won't forget it, but not for the right reasons.

Steve disapproves of your music tastes. Please report to your local Apple store tomorrow. Keyword Omega Alpha Foxtrot. They will assist you in "learning" a better music selection of which Steve approves of. Please wear your standard issue blue jeans and black mock turtle neck. thank you
No! Don't! Run! The laserbeams burnnnn!

Seriously, though, as much as I love the Beatles, and I do love the Beatles, it's not worth a full home page and this much hype. It's cool. It's fun. Personally, I already have the whole collection saved on my old hard drive. I think perhaps either there's something more to it, or.....Steve Jobs is a very big Beatles fan.

I just saw on the news today that Apple and EMI have been trading law suits since 1980. I can see how the release is symbolic. People shouldn't expect a bigger announcement. If it was anything really significant there would be a press conference.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; da-dk) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

Flash support would be awesome!

What a giant YAWN - how's the Beatles on the iTunes store even close to being so relevant? Everyone already has their music.

I don't, actually. Apple gets less criticism than they deserve about most things.

But when criticism of Apple is because someone is self-centered enough to expect Apple to do exactly what they want, then I have a problem. People on these forums are convinced that everything Apple does should be dictated by their personal demands. They completely ignore the fact that apple has millions of reasons to act outside of what they want, and ignore completely rational reasons for Apple to take a certain course of action.

I understand if you have concerns about their advertising, their products, their conduct in dealing with their customers. I share many of these concerns. But don't go around acting like one whiny customer that has his panties in a bunch has, or should have, the power to change things.

Calm down, I'm not coming after you with a machete. I'm just asking you (and others like you) to consider that Apple is a company with millions of customers besides yourself, and your personal needs are not, and nor should they be, Apple's top priority. By all accounts Apple is doing phenomenally well and they've been ignoring what all the whiners are saying.

Side note- I don't mean for this to get personal. I can't remember if you actually posted anything like what i'm talking about, tbh. I'm talking about a lot of this community in general.

If Steve does announce the Beatles on iTunes I hope to hear one more thing. Since we have that new data center all iTunes music will be lossless.
