Picture the scene: a winter's evening in 2053 sat in front of the fire..

"Granddad, where were you when the Beatles back catalogue was released on iTunes?"

"Ah, I remember that day well..." (picture blurs to a scene back in 2010 with me looking disappointed and bored, hunched over my keyboard posting on MacRumors)

I think a lot of people here are missing the fact that the hype wasnt necessarily "Beatles" related. It was hyped by Apple's, yet again, secret fashion. It could have been anything, and now they have created a hyped event over the nets marketing.

Everyones been waiting hours just for this moment.. the poster has arrived!

"The Beatles. Now on iTunes"

...

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Thats it?

This is as funny as when Jobs said the 13" MBP had 'killer graphics'

That about sums it all up for me!

All this hype for that:rolleyes: As much as I like alot of Beatles songs this is an absolute disappointment as most Beatles fans who use iTunes have got the Beatles on CD anyway. All this hype since last night has just been one joke.

Of course, for all the criticism, I'll be looking for Beatles stuff to buy.

:)

In defence of Steve and others old enough to remember, it really and truly was a very big deal.

Ok, I defend Apple on most things but this was just dumb. I go to the Apple site for info technical gadgets, not some bunch of scousers from the 60's. they are no more important than any other band. Surely this doesn't deserve Home Page status for 2 days. The worst "Cry Wolf" yet.

This is indeed a day I will never forget!
I'll never forget how stupid Apple's marketing has gotten! :apple::eek:
