April 1st is Apple's 30th Anniversary!!

You betcha! Remember Steve said: "Some of you we won't see again before then" (1st April). So obvisouly there's another smaller than MWSF stevenote planned - another red curtain "One more thing..." event maybe?

Now we're gonna need something sleek to roll out the new Final Cut Extreme and new proapp upgrades -- perhaps new cinema displays, new slim-line
iBooks, new MacMini/Entertainment consoles...... One more thing x 10

Ugh...

I have my mouse over the "Order" button on the new intel iMac and I read this.....come on Apple, don't do this to me! :( Now I have to wait I guess, I hate waiting...

If the real blame is in fact chips, the only ones I can think of that aren't yet available in mass quantities would be VIIV. Doesn't it kinda make sense that Apple would release an iHome and iTV on their 30 anniversary? Everyone would think it was a big joke, and then Steve could hold a keynote the next week going over sales of the products and their features, and then releases a new iBook, new Mac mini, more MacBook Pros and the Universal Pro Apps. Yay or nay?

Or I could also just see Apple holding two keynotes: One in March, perhaps, with iBooks and Mac mini updates. Then another April 1st introducing a real iPod video, iHome, and iTV.

More MacBooks, and universal Pro Apps could just be at some convention (NAB maybe, or something a bit earlier).

The Stevenote did seem a bit subdued compared to earlier ones. It did, however, have a few fun gags in it (the Pope, Super Secret Apple Rumors).

I truly believe that towards the end, with the mention of both the whole line going over to Intel, and the 30th Anniversary, Steve was telling us that we are going to hear from him again soon. Time will tell.

Just One More thing...

The MacBook Pro is dead Were here to announce the New "Insert Sexy Name Here"; Black Curtian lifts to unveil the new Apple Professional Notebook

Oh, and the new mac media cube with 500Gb for media storage, bundled with mac media displays with wonderful HD tuners, New iPod Dock that let's you use the Menu button on your Apple Remote to move through menus...

I think Apple are hanging out for core solo's for the new iBook (MacBook), and the mini. I hope they refresh the Shuffle line, possibly putting an eink screen on them, so when they're not opperating you can have messages displayed on the screen, things like your name or something witty!

What I hate about Apple (and every other company), is that when you just purchase that new shiney computer and when it's delivered to you and you open it......some other product that is more faster and powerful comes on the market!

But hey, that's bussiness!

Apple needs something brand new, unlike anything they've sold before to release on their 30th Anniversary. Like a 42" iMac - Media Edition.

No Video Annoucement...

There was a missing video announcement which I reasoned was going to be pulled because of the pending lawsuit with Burst.

Essentially Burst is strangling the industry and single handedly preventing the video revolution from happening.

M$ paid them $62 million in fines and licenses, and if you realize that Jobs would allow Apple to get involved in a lawsuit with the Beatles over their name, then you can sure as heck bet he will go to the mat with Burst over their silly patent claims.

Someone really smart from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, or this site or Slashdot, needs to examine those patents and find several cases of previous existence to help Apple and hence the anytime anywhere on-demand video revolution begin!

I had a feeling that something odd was going on -- you might say that it's 20/20 hindsight, but, well, I don't. It wasn't that Steve seemed unprepared -- he was in fine form, even if he did demo apps about 2.43 hours longer than I could bear... but he did seem under the weather. I blamed it on the iCough he trotted out, but it could be something like this.

Come one, oh please....

Macbook Tablet. It has to be.

That would be so nice. Remember, all those patents... and we're free of PPC now. Performance per watt, smaller, T,A,B,L,E,T.

I hope it's a return of Bob W.

Damn, I'd seriously buy something like that.

Single core on the go, two extra cores in a base station, DVD burner in base station, extra VRAM, etc.

Only if it came as a set mind you; laptop and docking bay/station. Not "one and the other" like the old ones.

(BOB W. was the code name for the old Duos. Best Of Both Words; means best of laptop, best of desktop. I agree.)

Click the button.

Stop waiting, just click the button. This guy reckon's Intel can't deliver enough chips? INTEL?!?! These guys aren't small fish, they're the biggest bloody shark in the ocean, even their scrap chips would be more than enough to supply the whole year's supply of Macs.

I think there was going to be more stuff but it was going to be more consumer electronics.

Click the button man, just click the button.

Well, i did talk to a Fry's employee last monday. He said he has seen a new Shuffle. However, he said it wasn't that special, no screen. However it was a bit smaller.

How can that be when the Apple Staff that were demo'ing the new MacBook's and iMacs at the show were told about them moments after they were announced by Steve.

They literally got a drink and the crowds rushed them.

So i think there is no way this is true. It's always some supplier that's at fault for something like this. If apple had some "cool" product, they would have announced it. Intel has never had supply issues like what's implied in this article.

I'm with you on this. I've no doubt there are more cool products coming but to say they weren't announced because of Core Duo supply does not make sense.

I would realistically loved to see a revamped Mac Mini (or replacement) media center, with pro duos (yeah, its not a pro machine, but would need the horsies). A DVR that accesses a vid service with 720x480 h.264s vids to download, of course per movie (maybe in the future subscription, I'd personally rather have that for movies, priced at less than $30/month).

Of course, matching Apple-branded 42" Plasmas and larger, that connect to the HDMI port on the new Mac w/PVR. That Mac would have bluetooth, ship with a new keyboard/mouse combo (BT of course), 802.11n, can connect to a video express, and VIIV platform.

HAPPY 30th Apple!!!

(sooooo I got off track, not so realistic!)

Wait, he met him in a BAR, perhaps the guy was DRUNK!!!! Sounds like a good joke I know, "a lame hit-desiring playboy went into a bar, followed by a drunk intel bunny..."

Personally, the whole "plasma TV/media center/wonder computer" thing doesn't do it for me at all. Laptops are the only thing I care about, and the blog said "I would wait to buy a MacBook". To me, this implies another round of laptops better in either features or price (I'm hoping for the latter).

Regards,
Gus

my hope is that apple unveils humility

their last ad, though extremely artistic and beautifully shot, was a weird shot at intel and the pc industry, especially considering that many of steve jobs gorgeous pixar movies were made on intel farms.....it's a pretty insulting ad, and doesn't make a whole heap of sense in that apple is choosing to now use these chips...far better to show what you do great then say what some one else has supposedly done badly...

plus that moby song is too spiritual and movign in my opinion to be used to advertise computers, doesnt sit well with me, it should be used in an ad for world peace

That's because you're obsessed with speed. You get a computer that handles what you want it to. I'm not too thrilled that the Intel iMac is probably faster than my original dual 2ghz G5, but hey, it does what I need it to do and does it well.

It makes sense to me. Almost every computer maker out there is getting there hands on the Core Duo all at once.
