If the real blame is in fact chips, the only ones I can think of that aren't yet available in mass quantities would be VIIV. Doesn't it kinda make sense that Apple would release an iHome and iTV on their 30 anniversary? Everyone would think it was a big joke, and then Steve could hold a keynote the next week going over sales of the products and their features, and then releases a new iBook, new Mac mini, more MacBook Pros and the Universal Pro Apps. Yay or nay?
Or I could also just see Apple holding two keynotes: One in March, perhaps, with iBooks and Mac mini updates. Then another April 1st introducing a real iPod video, iHome, and iTV.
More MacBooks, and universal Pro Apps could just be at some convention (NAB maybe, or something a bit earlier).
The Stevenote did seem a bit subdued compared to earlier ones. It did, however, have a few fun gags in it (the Pope, Super Secret Apple Rumors).
I truly believe that towards the end, with the mention of both the whole line going over to Intel, and the 30th Anniversary, Steve was telling us that we are going to hear from him again soon. Time will tell.
