Fingerprint-resistant? There are people out there that don't use a screen-protector?

Why the hell would I want to use an ugly ass case or screen protector? I've carried my original iPhone in my pocket for 2 years and not a knick on it. However, my friends year old phone has all kinds of scratches on the back from the case.

Those films were for scratches and the iPhone glass is like a thousand times more scratch resistant than the plastic film they are covering it up with.

I guess that's the question - will the 'oleophobic coating' make the screen more damageable? I know I have to replace my glasses these day not due to scratches but wearing away of the 'coatings' they put on all the lenses these days.

Has anyone found out if the processor or ram has been upraded or is it just an overclocked processor with the same 128MB of ram. I ordered mine already but I would be bummed if we still haveto deal with the constant rebooting because of low memory.

Maybe its because of my invisishield case, but I haven't had any noticeable problems with smudging on my screen. I just wipe smudges off with my shirt.

Grain?

Anyone remember the "grainy" screen issue on the MacBook Pros with anti-glare coating? I wonder if this "oleophobic" coating will affect image quality.

If my iPhone is stolen, I'd like to be able to wipe the data but still be able to track the location. It looks like I'd have to hold off wiping the data if I want to track where it is, or giving up tracking in order to secure my data.

would be nice if one could brick the phone and only an apple store can revive it.

Find My iPhone works great inside you house!! I lost mine yesterday so I went to my me website and sent a message to it and lo and behold it was beaming a cool pinging sound right from inside my couch!!:D

Of course, you could have just called your phone. ;)

if i buy an iphone 3gs for my partner and register it on mobile me, then can i track where they are on the find my iphone!??!?!?!?!?!?!

thinking of doing it!!

yes, but it would also open up the user to the MobileMe account you use. therefore youd want to set up a unique MobileMe account for that person.

definitely... been a bunch of times i wished i could swap the battery to a full one.

As for the FIND MY IPHONE and REMOTE ERASE FUNCTION.... got a question

1- if you wipe your data remotely, can you still find the iphone and track it? i would hate to have to choose between the two in order to protect your data or find a missing or stolen iphone.

The issue is probably that it will wipe your MobileMe account info as part of the process of getting rid of your personal information. It's not the phone company that's getting them the location. It appears that the process involves your phone receiving a pushed command to display a message or locate itself via your MobileMe setup.

yeah, would be nice to be able to do that. at the same time, you could begin to use the Password feature of the iPhone. i already do. assuming someone steals it, if they enter the password incorrectly too many times, itll wipe the phone automatically anyway. in the meantime, you could be tracking their location with MobileMe.
