For those who ended up installing their trackpad guard, how is it? Any accuracy/sensitivity issues?

I like it. It gives a matte-ish feel to the trackpad. My wife immediately noticed the different feel, and she likes it too.

I don't have any accuracy/sensitivity issues with it. If anything, I thought the matte-y feel makes it more sensitive to the touch.

Hi raymondu999,

I noticed you have the 15" MBP with 6GB RAM. Did you add the extra 2GB yourself? How do you find it? Did you notice a big difference after installing?

Also how do you find the SSD drive? Is it worth having one? And how much did you pay for it?!

Finally (sorry for all the questions). What is the main use for your MBP? I'm guessing you may use it for a lot of photo editing/animating type stuff?

Cheers :)

Lol. Actually I'm a developper, and I spend my time usually coding. I do some coding in platform-independent languages etc so it is quite convenient to have Mac OS open, with Windows open in a virtual machine and Linux in another virtual machine. This leads to the need for some heavy duty RAM. I do some gaming now and again, but also some photography - Just a hobby though, one I'm not very good at (yet)

I bought the 256 for a bit of a fortune, but it is VERY FAST!! and the 6GB is done by 4+2GB.

Are there any stores that sell the Palmguard? I don't want to wait 2-3 weeks.. or any faster online option?

I installed the Palmguard and the Clearguard today.
The Palmguard is great! I like the feel of the matte trackpad, and I don't feel it affects it in anyway.
The Clearguard, though, will take some getting used to. I also don't like that it sticks up a little bit. Does this do anything to the screen?

I also have a Speck seethru satin hard shell which is great, but a pain to take off.

ive heard that using the moshi palmguard and the speck see thru is not the best combo. has anyone tried these two together, what are your thoughts?

My experiences ordering from Moshi have been good. Though it states 2-3 weeks I typically receive it by the end of the week. I have ordered the Palm Guard at least 4 times and I have received them all within a week. Hope this helps.

the palmguard is a great product, especially considering the problems some people have with pitting, simply not worth the risk and it's hardly visible. I do find that mine for my 13"mbp isn't an absolutely PERFECT fit

moshi or marware?

i am thinking of getting a palm guard but i don't know between the two brand. anything better about one or the other? and does either leave residue behind when you peel of the palm guard? and can the macbook pro close all the way with the keyboard guard in between?

The Moshi palmguard is a great product. Although it's not the perfect match for the aluminum (color-wise) but it's pretty darn close. I didn't bother with the trackpad cover, it seem to made the pad less responsive.

I just installed my Moshi palmguard. I ordered it from Amazon on Dec. 10, and it arrived today.

It was a lot easier to install than I expected. It's lined up perfectly.

If anyone is interested..... I took the backing off of the right side first (ripped the backing off in the thin middle trackpad area), lined up the bottom-right corner, and slowly settled it down from right to left. Then I applied the area around the trackpad, and then the left side.

Looks great, the color is really close (but not perfect). Close enough for me.

Now I can wear my watch while I use my MBP.

I've decided not to use the trackpad cover. I don't see the point of covering up the glass trackpad.

Moshi Palm Guard Problem - Track pad irresponsive

My track pad is really irresponsive as a result of this palm guard. Not sure how to remove it without damaging my lovely new toy

I still love the Palmguard. I installed one on my 11" MacBook Air when I got one of those. It still looks as good as new, and its been on for almost a year.

What on earth are you people doing that you need a cover for the palmrest on your laptop. Good lord.

Well, if you wear a watch, it can scratch up the palmrest while you type. I've seen it happen on other people's laptops.

Also, I just like how it feels over the cold metal of the palmrests.
