If they announce it on Thursday and sell it Thursday what's the chances of getting it before the weekend?

I doubt that it'll be available Thursday. What was the last major device announced and immediately available that day?

And even if it was, you'd have to pick it up at a retail location as even overnight shipping wouldn't get it done considering this announcement looks to be sometime in the afternoon, if I'm not mistaken.

Chromecast was available immediately after announcement.

Chromecast is a tiny cheap piece of tech, far different from a smartphone in multiple configurations for various carriers. Even with the linked info suggesting it might be available shortly after the announcement, I don't think it'll be available immediately after the announcement. Even the Nexus 7 wasn't available for 3 days.

Hope I'm wrong, would love to see it in person that quickly.

Yeah the GPU looks good and the 10mp camera decent. If its running a near stock OS it could be pretty decent performance wise irrespective of being dual core.

Its getting similar benchmarks as quad core from last year and same AnTuTu as Xperia Z - so yeah pretty decent :)
Yep. It benches around the same as n4 (best benchmarking phone until htc one and s4 came out), also it won't be a battery hog. It is ad close to aosp stock as possible without being a nexus device, it is probably closer than the get phones.

This Thursday can't come fast enough. I'm not even necessarily going to get the MX, but I'm just excited about what the official word will be.

I'm very intrigued by all these leaks. If it's ~$350 off contract, I'll pick one up whenever I can. Let's go Motorola!

This phone is going to change everything. People will finally realize that a good looking, fast phone that gets updates quickly shouldn't cost a fortune. Pricing is very critical though.

I think we're being a tad dramatic, don't you think? :D

They still need to make a standout Galaxy flagship killer to "change everything"

Marketing will determine that. The nexus could change everything if they marketed the hell out of it.

Rumor has it there spending a half a billion on marketing and will be available on all carriers and if the price rumors are true well then it will really shake up the smartphone market.

With all the hype going around I can guarantee this phone will be a disappointment.

I have to agree it seems like a cheap smartphone with midrange specs dumbed down to appease the entry level buyers.

720, dual core, voice controls 4.3 inch screen seems its targeting my mom not me.

And the droid raze maxxx is definitely top dawg on Motorola, the x will a bust.

4.7"
different strokes for different folks
if you're talking about verizon's droids those have the same chip as the x
I don't game much on my phone so don't need bleeding edge processor

4.7 with on screen buttons make it ~4.45".

Actually, my hype is pretty grounded and driven primarily by well sourced and well backed leaks. I'm really not setting my expectations higher than by what's been pretty much "confirmed."

The fact that it's seen as a "mid-ranger" also is curbing my hype radar.

I'm excited about this device, but I don't think it's the be all and end all of smartphones. Hardly.

And I guess I'm more excited about this Googorola thing they got going.
