Just create options. Options for all. Does creating options cost the manufacturers more money? Isn't that what the increased prices are there for to cover the extra cost of higher storage?

Create 16, 32, 64, and 128, why not? Just charge more.

I'd actually love to be enlightened on how this process works. Why doesn't Google/Moto order more and create higher storage for higher prices along with the lower storage for lower prices?

Personally, I love that HTC is setting the default storage at 32 GB.

32GB should not be the highest end storage option.

Agree 100%. Storage options should start at 32GBs....

Maybe it costs more to compress so much digital storage into the same space?

In other words, to cram 128GB into the same physical size SDD costs more than it would be to cram 16GB? The little components inside the SSD costs more for 128GB?

Must be something...

You won't see 128 GB internal storage phones until 128 GB single micro-sd cards are available, which won't be for another year at least. That's why phones absolutely need a micro-sd slot. Then the choice is left to the consumer about how much storage they want. If you don't want storage, don't fill the slot. But this needs to be a choice. Both HTC and Motorola really dropped the ball on there flagship phones. I'd buy this or and HTC one instead of Samsung Galaxy if they had micro-sd slots. :)

I've had this ridiculous argument numerous times with people who are obviously not real media consumers. Streaming ONE single HD movie alone is 2.5 GB. Most people have 2 - 4 GB plans. Even if you have an unlimited plan, you pretty much get throttled at 6 GB, or 2-3 movies. Not to mention audio. Plus, the other 100 reasons why local media is so much better - from being able to view embedded lyrics in songs and actually see them, to being able to view things on the subway, to not having any drop outs in high volume zones, etc. Maybe these won't be issues in the future, but we are not even close to being there yet and not for some time until carriers overhaul their infrastructures. Jeez...

I stream and download movies on my phone using mobile data and get through 80 to 120Gb a month regularly.

WHo's that?

And is he alluding to that "killer secret feature" that no one yet knows about about the MX?

He must know something we don't.

Motorola is holding meetings for select members of the press to show off the device rather than a keynote-type event.

The Verge is doing some sort of live stream at 3PM Eastern. Not sure if they're live streaming the meeting or what.

Embargo lifts in 10 minutes. Another one lifts at 9PM Eastern I think.

The person speaking on The Verge just said, "The screens a little pink to our eyes, but otherwise looks really good."

AMOLED is in the official specs. Sigh. Moving on.

Pretty poor release IMO. Falls short of the One and S4 in my eyes, especially since it is the same price point.

A google play edition of a phone that is suppose to be praised for its game changing features....

It is $199 with a contract...I cannot imagine anything less than $499 off

I think the phone is more about the experience, look, feel, etc more than specs. Like the guys on The Verge said, the phone is already "behind" specs-wise. I have to admit, I like the design and the near-stock OS looks good.

If the AMOLED is like the Samsung ones then I'm out.

The colours are so wacky it burns my retina's

On another note I guess it's good to have more competition which pushes Samsung and HTC to do better
