I might pick one of these up later today. I saw the off contract price through my work would be $579. So if i can get that price at a AT&T retail store i will pick one up today. I will let you guys know and post a mini review. But if the camera is not as good as my S4 then it will go back........but I want to see for myself......

Good luck. I haven't seen a single favorable review about the Moto X's camera--most range from dreadful to tolerable. All the reviews I've read consider it inferior to the HTC One, so that should give you an idea. The S4's camera is one of the best available.

You shouldn't even waste your time then. There is no comparison between the two cameras.

You guys are giving me reasons to pause.......I did read a lot of the reviews and some were mixed. But i remember reading a ton of reviews about the S4 before it came out. Most of them said there was not much of a difference to the S3 and to wait. But as it turned out that was not true...... I guess I will go check it out and see for myself........
Thanks guys :)

I'm going to check one out today. I could care less how good or bad the camera is because I rarely use my phones camera. So if that's the big negative against the phone then I might really like it.

I don't want to be a debbie downer on this
I was heavily considering Moto X, but I bought the GS4 GPE.

I think my only regret will be if the Play Store Moto X is priced significantly less than ATT's off contract $580.

Love to hear feedback on the X as people get it though!

Moto Maker was fun, I made a few combos I liked, but an off contract price of $500+ is a bit steep for something that is more midrange than high end. Maybe a Google Play edition will be cheaper (fingers crossed).

Not enough colors to choose from. 18 back, 2 front, 7 for the accents. Features are stuff you could configure in the OS anyway

Personally I'm underwhelmed

I just can't fathom how Moto thought it was a good idea to give any carrier an exclusive on their biggest selling point. Moto needs exposure and increased market share. They did a pretty good job of getting exposure will all the leaks and hype and pretty good reviews. But if their big, touted feature is available to a select few, they won't be able to up their marketshare by much. And this isn't even considering their US launch only.

This particularly sucks because I want Moto to succeed. They seem to get that people don't necessarily want a complete user interface with different companies. Adding features but keeping Android really close to stock seems like a great strategy, at least to me

Apparently dev editions are coming in a matter of days

Really? Have a source for that info?

I'm not hung up on specs, couldn't care less if it runs as smooth and gets good battery life as reviews are claiming. I was hoping for better performance from the camera but not a deal breaker for me (I've lived fine with the One for the past 4 months ;)). Better yet though is the near stock Android experience with features added that I find desirable. Only concern for me is 32 GB storage as I've used just a touch more than that on my One.

I won't consider it though unless there's a Dev edition that works on AT&T with all the bloat removed. Or a GPE with the ability to add back the functionality Moto added (touchless functionality as an app on Google Play is promising). I'll stop by an AT&T store sometime to get a little hands in time before considering it further.

welllllll....I got the Moto X today. Haven't had time to go through everything and set up all the options.. But I am impressed so far. Speed wise it is just as fast as my S4. MotoMigrate is a migration app was a very nice surprise. It migrated all my music pictures, texts and MMS and call logs via wireless from my S4 to the X. Very nice so far. The menus and UI is very smooth and very fast with no lag. I will take some pictures later tonight or in the morning to compare the X and the S4. So far so good.....The screen is amazing!
I picked up the Black 16GB

How's the touchless controls?

Dev edition will be white back and black front? No other choices? At least make it either all black or all white.

What the heck is Motorola doing?

Nearly everything about the MX is disappointing, including this.

That is what it looks like. Personally I'd rather have that than all white. I would think they will let you change it though since moto maker is a big push for them
