I'd imagine something a lot more related to the lines and curves of vehicles that designers at Apple actually prefer, not something that looks like a latter-day iPhone stretched across a generic electric car frame.

If they wanted to dig a little, they could at least have mentioned Marc Newson's concepts for a traditional car from some years back: http://marc-newson.com/ford-021c-concept-car/

Not that I'd expect anything quite like that, but Newson is now on Ive's team.

That is a hideous rendering of a nasty ugly mini van with a gold/beige color that would only appeal to an elderly Buick driver.

The interior looks absurd. Like Apple would put a square steering wheel in.

Sorry, but all a total joke.

My money is on the notion that they'll release some butt-ugly Apple car (not this design but still ugly) before they upgrade the can't-innovate-my-ass mac pro.

I never thought there'd be an uglier than the AMC Pacer.

This design (if made into reality by some bizarre coincidence) is something I wouldn't mind seeing youtubers destroy.

"Apple Car Drop Test"

"Apple Car versus Lava"

"Apple Car - Can it survive in water"

"Sledge Hammer shows Apple Car who is boss"

So they hired a bunch of people to imagine what an Apple Car would look like....

How could anyone involved not feel stupid?

Not much to look at, but one could imagine sitting inside one - lots of space, wrap around windows, digital HUD. Broader family market practicality. Makes me wonder if they would bring out different versions - family configuration or 1-2 seaters.

Well I'd assume an Apple Car would look more like the Tesla Model S but since Elon already came out with that, I'm all out of ideas, making it look like a 4 wheeled vespa sure isn't the answer.

I'd expect it to look like a cross between a Ferrari and a Aston Martin with a starting price of $1.5 M.
[doublepost=1460658670][/doublepost] <startingBadJoke>At least it's not the back of a kidnap van because we all know how Apple likes to stay away from Windows :p </endingBadJoke>

I hope Apple does not release a car.

Can you imagine all of the "WE SERVICE APPLECAR" signs in shady garages? "We fix broken speedometer displays!"

Best to make the software and some convenience features (touch ID to start the car!) in other OEMs' cars and leave the clean-sheet approach to the legacies. Apple is good at a lot of things, and they may produce a great car. But they're spread awfully thin as it is, and a car is not a small project.

So inane of MT to essentially put out something of this nature with absolutely no-input or leaks from the supposed Manufacturer of said product. At least when they get spy-photos of the 2018 Camaro/BMW M-XXX- insert typical cover story as you like - it is grounded in a touch of reality, based on actual leaks or photos of the product. But this article is simply stupid. And really poorly done - you would think a Car magazine could create something a little (or a lot) better.
