This is DOA. Why would anyone buy this over the Nexus Galaxy Prime thingie :p on Verizon especially with Ice Cream Sandwich?

Everyone wants to make a smart watch again (we went through this a few years ago with Windows Mobile GSM phone watches). Also, didn't Bill Gates try to market a watch with apps on it? I'm fuzzy on that one.

I'm keeping my eye on the supposedly soon-to-come "I'm" Bluetooth watch from Italy that runs Android 1.6, so you can put custom built apps on it:

Sorta want, but not such a huge jump from my Samsung Vibrant. I really wish the app quality would improve. I'm waiting for the Galaxy Nexus though. Maybe I'll have the 4S AND the NEXUS S:mad:

Come to think of it, I've been wanting a razr since I was 13 (I'm 21 now, BTW). So........patience is a virtue? Ah, frack it! I'm getting the RAZR!

You would actually pick this over the Nexus when you don't have any guarantee of software upgrade?

I have owned 2 Motorola Droids an orginal one and a D2 and both have gotten software upgrades over the time I owned them. My D2 is running 2.3.3 right now so I don't really think it is that outdated.

By the way who is buying Motorola right now? Don't you think that is going to make a little difference on future upgrades? I do.

Droid RAZR hands-on.

MotoACTV hands-on.

Ok so it doesn't have an Apple logo on it, still it is some nice stuff IMHO.

Exactly. Also, it's not thin enough for me. I want it to be....razor thin. Whic it's not.

They destroyed the RAZR brand. I'll never forgive them for it!

RAZR>iPhone>Android. 'nuff said

Like iPhone thin huh?

But then if your a Verizon customer you would be stuck on old, slow EVDO Rev. A 3G, while everyone on the new 4G LTE devices fly along. Verizon is expanding 4G to more and more markets every month. I'd hate to wait a year to get it when it is coming to my area next month.

Looks OK.
Still think this is one of the best phones ever though:

Remember it being my last phone pre-iPhone. God, it's been downhill with Motorola since there.

4G coverage is too spotty for me....and most of my data consumption is at home. Plus, Verizon is EXPENSIVE.

Until somebody can figure out power management with LTE, it is useless to me. My buddy has a Bionic and while the phone is nice he is usually down to 20% battery by 4PM daily. He has been trying juice defender and other power management stuff and the battery life on the phone is just plain bad and I don't trust MOTO software to fix this issue. Only more power efficient chipsets will do this.

And with the RAZR an extended battery is not even an option as the battery is not user-replacable.

I would be embarrassed if I were Motorola... They pretty much copy Apple on everything, from the 'keynote' to the nano...

It's true, I'm an :apple: fanatic... but I truly wish there was another company that was original and innovative enough to invent new things instead of nipping at the heels of Apple all the time... It just seems so lazy..

I would be very careful buying any Android phone from Motorola. They have a history of not supporting their devices very well with upgrades. If you want an Android device, there are better choices.

Considering Google's recent acquisition of Motorola, I'd think software updates won't be an issue going forward with Moto handsets.

I came from the original Motorola Droid to the iPhone 4S. I hated that Droid. On more than one occasion I wanted to throw it out the window.

Using the "RAZR" namesake is obviously a desperate attempt on Motorola's part. The funny thing about it is that after the initial manufacturing run RAZRs were horrible quality. Motorola was cranking them out with cheaper and cheaper parts by the week. People broke those things like nothing. I'm not sure I would want to tie those memories to my latest offering, but whatever.

My experience was the opposite of yours. I owned a RAZR and thought it had great build quality. Accidentally dropped it several times - no problems. Very well built phone, felt good in the hand, liked the soft-touch back.

It hasn't been acquired yet. Who knows how long that's going to take and by that time RAZR may be well forgotten. I'm just arguing that since Nexus is coming out next month with similar capabilities and ICS, it's a better option than RAZR if you want an Android device.

This phone will be forgotten once the nexus prime is introduced tonight. Not nice enough to steer me from my iphone. Im hoping the prime will.

I wonder what all those people that just bought a Bionic last month for $299 are thinking right now?

I'm trying to convince my wife to return hers and get the RAZR. She's not sure if she wants to deal with the hassle.

Shouldn't Google's purchase of Motorola Mobility change that?
