I like the fact it doesn't follow the spec hunt that others do. 720p? I'd be fine with that. Dual Core? Absolutely enough (at least on my iphone 5) ..

And Touchless control for itself is an absolut winner (disregarding to privacy concerns), I was waiting for Apple to implement this, since the 4S ;)

Damn, if I haven't got a phone on contract last year I'd be REALLY tempted!

Moto X has a natural language processor and contextual processor, which I think helps it to save battery life.

What I liked:
* Voice Dictation without physical interaction
* Custom designed visuals of the case
* Assembled in USA

In some places specs could be better *points at Ubuntu Edge*

Lol this is funny. Here on an Apple site, people are giving this phone praise.

But head over to an Android site and people are saying what a disappointment the moto x is. Lol

Waiting for actual reviews to see if the battery life is actually anywhere near that good, or it's just talk time like people have stated.

If it's really 24hours of general smartphone usage... this would be crazy.

It's amusing to watch Google fans fawn over voice activation when they all said nobody would ever talk to their phones like that when Siri came out.

Then again, if Google is banking on this "groundbreaking" voice activation Ok Google garbage, they're more hopeless than I thought.

It is indeed a disappointment. Don't blow your cover by over-praising this thing.

That's pretty cool. I've wanted something like this on the iPhone for Siri for a while now. Amazing that they're claiming 24-hour battery life with this feature.

Chances are they judge solely on specs and specs alone.

That's because this is an upgrade from the iPhone 5.

As opposed to being a downgrade from the GS4 and HTC One.

Nope. Samsung would have done it. The 24 hour claim is flawed like their claimed Nexus 7 battery life.

Then it will be a downgrade when compared to Apple's this year model.

Why is Google releasing a phone to compete with last year's model ?

The phone looks a little too wide but besides that its interesting.

It's not any wider than other phones in its class.

In fact... it's actually the narrowest phone compared to other 4.7"+ phones.

Is it wider than the iPhone? Of course, but only slightly: 2.47" vs 2.31"

But the iPhone 5 has a 4" 16x9 screen and this has a 4.7" 16x9 screen.

I love my iPhone, but wow, that's a good looking phone :)
All these "new" nice bigger phones make me wonder if apple will make one too eventually :)

I don't find the moto x an upgrade in any way from the iPhone 5. I do think the HTC One is an upgrade. I love the HTC One. Love love love it.

I wonder what would happen, if someone else instead of you says "OK, Google now"... Should the phone get activated every single time? This is just a fail!

Most people seem to overlook the fact that the problem with Android is that on paper everything looks shiny, but when things come to user experience... that's hell on earth!

You can train it to your voice so it only responds to you, I believe.

Also, the phrase is only needed to activate search when the phone is in standby or when you want it to do something without pressing buttons. True voice searching without needing to be in the right place/app or needing to do a gesture or button press. You can of course unlock the phone and do the swipe up gesture to get there like with current phones and the same method with Siri (replace swipe up with a home button hold) so people are really getting antsy over nothing or aren't reading articles properly and just jumping to conclusions.

I'm surprised there are so many positive comments on this thread. I have to admit, I've already switched to android phones. However it will be a long time before I quit using apple tsblets.

Mom walks in to the room:
– What are you doing?
– Ummm… Trying to activate camera on Moto X...

Phone looks par for the course. Sony and HTC ones look much better. Samsung will crush this too.

It won't make a big difference.
