I'm the one that originally mentioned the curb biting in American History X (I can just see/feel/hear his teeth going up against it - damn that cinematography) and the Irreversible rape scene... so I'm not mocking this thread when I say this, but:

I thought of one that is more humorously uncomfortable. The scene in Swingers when, getting home from the Dresden, Mike just keeps calling and calling Nikki. I keep yelling at the movie, "just stop!"

As the OP, I don't really care where this thread goes, as long as it is somewhat relevant to movies.

BTW, you wouldn't happen to go to Full Sail University there in Winter Park, FL , would you? :D

in kill bill vol 2 uma therman got buried alive and that knocked the crap out of me.

Wow, good call. It made me in uncomfortable in a different way... the way it was shot so close, detailing her moments of discomfort and strained, difficult movements made me feel like I was buried alive.

It was really uncomfortable watching the opening scene of Leatherheads with my chick friend last night. They left the doors to the theatre open, and the light was really distracting. So I got up and closed the doors. Much better. :p

SPOILER

Oh, and she's a feminist, so when the reporter girl decided to leave her job to get married, and also could not start the motorcycle on her own, I LOVED IT! I turned to my friend and laughed :D

Scarface chainsaw scene

Back when I saw this in the movie theatre it was what I considered the most uncomfortable scene I've ever seen, the chainsaw scene in Scarface.

Never saw it again until the uncut DVD was out.

The **** eating scene from "Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom" makes me gag. No wonder Pasolini was murdered after that film.

Agreed, by far the worst, because I didn't see it coming.

Can't comment on some of the others. I find life uncomfortable enough. I see no need to go looking for it.
:)

I forgot about that scene, it makes me nervous even after seeing it so many times. Still it's so well acted/shot that for a moment it's like your right there. Great film though, I know most people always put it in their top ten.

There's an amazing japanese movie called 'visitor q' which is almost entirely uncomfortable - the first scene is an amateur journalist filming and then having sex with an underage prostitute who turns out to be his daughter, it has a graphic scene of necrophilia, and a scene where a woman lactates in her kitchen to the point that it starts to flood with milk.

Quite a good commentary on modern life none-the-less :D

As I understand, when this scene was first made, the movie was X rated. They cut 3 seconds from this scene to get an R rating.

"How about a leg Tony?"
