Try to download an App via Wifi, and tell me that it downloads at the same speed it always has.

There is a physical problem with gs.apple.com server. If you try to ping it, times out.

I don't know if you are serious. Since Thursday Apple has said they have no evidence that the issue is their issue, even though they can replicate the issue on their end. They have now updated their status page saying that there are store issues and iCloud issues - the same exact issues I am having. Therefore they are related.

From what I have gathered over the last day of independent research, its a west coast thing.

There is no technical reason why an apple server issue would affect your ability to use your home wifi

Yeah I have had zero issues browsing since Thursday, just anything iTunes/Mac App Store related hasn't been working.

Now that I think about it, I was having a problem earlier today downloading app updates on my iPhone, and last night on my Apple TV. It seemed really slow. Really ****** of Apple to just now address it though.

EDIT: No problems with iMessage it seems, message came back with "Delivered". FaceTime untested ATM, iTunes, App Store and Apple Support Discussion still down (weird). Server is still having problems with reachability and caching, iCloud.com is slow to respond.

Ok. Just updated Sky Guide and YouTube. No issues

gs.apple.com is timing out when you try to reach it via Wifi. The issue is not timing out when you try to reach it via cellular. I tethered my iPhone to my MBA and ran the same ping - no issue. Apple engineers have duplicated the same issue.

I know it seems weird saying this but why should an Apple router rely on Apple services to function correctly on a normal basis (disregarding firmware updates from apple, obviously). I mean, I'm not a hardware/network engineer but a router just routes on its own. It seems kind of sketch for Apple to have it setup like that.

Then you are lucky. Just because YOU don't have the issue, doesn't mean the issue doesn't exist. It clearly exists if Apple engineers can duplicate it while at an Apple Facility.

I was trying to activate a new iPad mini, and I kept getting a message that it couldn't reach the server. Then, I checked iTunes on my computer and couldn't connect. Apple's System Status page finally updated to reveal there were widespread problems after scratching my head for about 10 minutes. Doesn't it seem like Apple has problems with services going down more than other companies?

I am now able to access services that were previously unreachable. Hope it stays that way. (Midwest USA)

That's backwards. Just because you've been having issues all week, doesn't mean everybody else has, and it doesn't mean that apple is at fault in your case.

I don't believe there is a widespread issue. Sounds like you have an isolated problem. Sorry, hope it gets resolved soon though!

All Systems Go here. (Eastern US.) Knock on wood!
Same here out East. Well Apple music was a little flaky on the loading page but my playlist worked fine this afternoon. I hope it all works for me tomorrow because I've got important emails to deal with. Goodness what is wrong with autocorrect these days? It's "tomorrow" not "Tom Eros" you asinine iPad.

Outage = hacked?

I try talking to my mother a few mins ago through ft and it failed the call

Wrong - Read this single thread. There are others that have been having the issue all week. Apple has verified the issue does exist. Therefore, my original statement is correct. Just because they have not experienced it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Logical fallacy.

And Apple has admitted fault to me personally. They said there is nothing wrong with my end, its all on them.

Ironic, just had a small earthquake too. What a night.

In other news, I can finally re-authenticate all my apps that got screwed up thanks to the certificates. Tweetbot, here I come!

It's always a minor thing that lasts for a few minutes. Glad it wasn't a persistent large issue!

Honestly, I was having trouble loading Google+ posts on my iPhone so I thought it was my internet (Verizon FIOS) when Apple TV started not working. If it hadn't been for this post, I'd have chalked it up to a FIOS fluke (which is extremely rare for me).
