Honestly, just give up on jailbreaking the iPhone 4 already. They're never going to finish it. And when they do, it's going to be at the end of its life.

The iPhone 4 is a mess the way it is now. New bugs have already popped up with this new update that's only been released for a day. Plus, we still have some that have been there from day one. Do you think a jailbreak is really going to make it any better? Who cares if it's officially legal now? Who cares about having custom retina icons when we won't be able to even use our phone without crashing, lagging, etc?

Nonsense. My iPhone 4 has been rock solid on 4.2.1. Not a single crash, and yes I am jailbroken with many extensions and what not as well. If you'd like to dump your iPhone 4 I'm looking for another one...if the price is right.

That's why I bought mine factory unlocked. It's the best way not to be preoccupied with this crap. Jailbreak always comes in, but the unlock as usual takes a lot of time and I just can't afford to be dependent on someone.

I think the OP (and a lot of folks) are just getting tired of the endless carrots they keep dangling out there. I've written off Dev team because of this. Someone else will do it or it won't happen. Greenpois0n made them look pretty bad as well.

me too, im so happy i bought a factory unlocked phone. makes things so much easier and eliminates any possibility of becoming an entitled prick like the OP.

these hackers have done wonders, and they've done it for us for FREE and in their spare time. to complain that they aren't fast or clear enough isn't a problem with the hackers, it's a problem with YOUR expectations.

Well said.
Look who's talking calling MN a talentless hacker:rolleyes:
Maybe the OP can give us the next unlock then since he's better and stop talking trash.

The homeless saw a sign "Free meal on..." The homeless showed up for the meals but there were no meals for whatever reason. The homeless are not happy. I bet a couple of these regular bashing people would say...hey scumbags...stop complaining and go buy your own meals.

not sure they are talentless if they keep finding a jailbreak, i could care less about unlocks, why dont you get mad at your carrier for not getting the iphone or get mad at apple for not partnering up with your carrier, or move to Canada all 3 of our carriers have it.

People like having the unlock as well for resell value. I bought my iPhone 4 on launch day and still have the original baseband along with SHSH for every firmware for it. I have also been careful not to click Upgrade cause it screams at you when you open iTunes, and when I do upgrade make sure I rtfm to not axe my baseband.

I think people don't get mad at Apple or AT&T b/c those companies didn't lie to them. They know that they will not get the unlock code. If the companies say...oh, you will get the unlock code after one year...and they get nothing after a year...2 years. Then, they will get mad at those companies.

Or you could look at it like this:

The homeless saw a sign "Free meal on..." The homeless showed up for the meals but they were told the meals were still being cooked so they would have to wait around for a bit. The homeless are not happy at having to wait for their free meals. Why can't these unpaid volunteers working their backsides off on top of their regular jobs to provide free meals to the homeless get their acts together?

I bet you geohot bashers miss him now huh? Things used to come so much faster when he was around. He was honestly the best, I've been calling the dev-teams bluff for a while now.

Luckily for me I don't rely on an unlock an I know better than to update before a decent jailbreak is out.

I understand where the OP is coming from though because the dev-team tease and mislead people all the time and then when chronic or somebody comes out with something they always claim they're going to hold their exploit for the next update and base pwnage tool off whoever else released the jb.... Right...

Bottom line is, they do the work in their spare time for FREE! They do it most likely for the challenge of it and enjoy doing it. Geohot probably enjoyed it too until trolls bothered him too much.

The dev team could just not say anything and put the tools out when they are done. I think it's nice of them to let us know their progress. If people read too much into a tweet by Musclenerd or any other dev team member too bad. They always say from the beginning don't update, you may be stuck FOREVER.

Like has been said before, if you have no patientence, unlock it yourself.

Good example, but if the cooks had no intention of being able to supply food on that night (because they knew it wouldn't possibly be ready), do they hold any responsibility for telling all the homeless to show up anyway? Shouldn't they be a bit more careful about what they promise or imply?

Sure it's free food, but there are expectations of services they've given out and then failed to deliver.

I agree with OP to an extent.

Dealing with facts.

Dev team has said things that didn't happen. Multiple times. Can't deny that.

I can see how some feel.

Oh dear jeebus, they said the unlock was coming out after 4.3, but they didn't say when. They have to make sure the solution they come up with for the 4.3gm will also work; that's called testing. It's obvious you don't care if the unlock screws up your phone, but the rest of us do.

You're wrong. They told us the ETA "soon after the 4.3 release, we'll need to do some testing, as it's already done".

Maybe because the OP never said he will release something?
One thing is say you have it ready, other is don't have anything.
Keep buying their lies, I hope that the "iPhone dev team" quits, since they never bring anything new but taking other people/groups exploits and put in their junkie software that is Mac OS X dependent.

If having a unlocked Iphone was that important too me. I would spend the extra cash and get a Factory Unlocked phone. (Problem Solved) you can even sell your locked sim phone then use the money towards a factory unlocked. and once again more people just need to learn how to hack or stop bitching! ;) I wish the Dev-team could hand select who gets jailbreaks and unlocks. No Unlock for you!

Your post so reminded me of the "Soup Nazi" in Seinfeld. No soup for you.

What a ridiculous thread. One person whining about a group of garage hackers not delivering in a (to him) timely manner a free service that has been consistently blocked by a multi-million-dollar conglomerate that keeps locking phones in America even though the last cell phone user's bill of rights called for unlocking all phones. And it MUST be the hacker's fault.

If you want to blame someone:

1. Buying a phone made for one service provider and trying to use it on another system. Unless you travel out of the country a lot, blame yourself.

2. Wanting to increase the resale value of your phone by being able to unlock it and thus reap personal financial benefit, blame yourself.

3. No, I think one and two pretty much cover it.

As to the iPhone basher(s) in this thread, my i4 works perfectly well, as do my older son's and many of my friend's and acquaintance's i4s. If you've got bugs, the first place to look is to YOUR system and what YOU have done to your phone. If you got a buggy stock phone, take it back to the Apple Store.

As to anyone working for free owing anyone anything, get your head fully out of your butt.

As to the perceived slowness of anyone doing anything for free, well, it's for free. They owe you nothing and there is no due date. See above.

As to the perception that someone is stringing you along with press releases, it is your impression that this is happening. If you think they are giving you false information, stop reading their releases. Oh, yes, see above.

I just appreciate what comes along. The i4 running 4x was tethered for a while, so I just didn't upgrade until a JB came along that would let me. It did and I did. Thanks for the GreenPoison (which works perfectly well, thank you), I appreciate all the work you put into it, dev team.

No one here, and no one on the dev team, and George, too, is your mommy or daddy. They owe you NOTHING. If you are so RUDE as to whine about the "slowness" of what they do, you will be ridiculed and mocked for good reason. If you have the temerity (look it up) to complain about twitter releases (TWITTER, for god's sake!), the mocking will increase.

Wait patiently for that which comes to you for free, and through no effort or labor on your part, or just go away. Everyone wants something. What separates us from 5-year-olds is that we act like adults and keep our whining to an interior monologue.

Try it.

Some people will always think like that especially with those who don't finish high school or college. I heard alot like "What do you exspect when you pay me at the minmum wage?" They don't care to show up on time or try to do their best.

Amazing, these guys offer you a free service. You think trying to unlock a phone is easy?

Let me refresh some of your memories back to a time of trying to unlock a DUMB-PHONE.

Sites would charge you a stupid amount of money to unlock it.

Lots of misinformation on how to unlock a device was obscure and questionable at best.

Information on HOW to unlock it yourself was suppressed on forums...even asking about it was taboo.

some devices needed special tools/cables.

It was not easy at all.

Now you have a dev team that just GIVES THE UNLOCK AWAY for FREE...all that is required is some PATIENCE and you people just complain about it?

Sorry but you people are all ungrateful.

you nailed it, obviously some people never heard the rolling stones song "you can't always get what you want"

Why can't the infamous "Dev team" simply say, hey users, we recognize how long some of you have waited for the iPhone 4 unlock.... to be honest, Apple got us this time, and we're still scratching our.... heads over what to try next.

No, Musclenerd and co. instead take to Twitter, must be easy to avoid making a statement with a 140-character limit.

Well 4.3 is here Musclenerd, what's the answer?

Just say you guys can't do it yet and you're sorry. Is your e-street cred and Twitter count that important to you? Oh wait, right, you're waiting for the "perfect time" to unveil it.....:apple:

Ignored. Don't like it? Make your own damn unlock smart guy. Oh, you don't know code from a hole in the ground? Figures.
