My order status just updated from 2 Weeks to 9/21...

I had a reservation number at 12:31AM PDT, completed my order at 6:00AM.

:D
 
So the lady is saying other people are having issues with the checkout now button kicking people back out to the cart.....

She took my number, and gave me her direct line number as well. She says I will receive an email once they are able to resolve it
 
The expected delivery dates moved around on people last year too, from what I remember most folks who ordered within the first couple hours all ended up with their phones on Launch day. (Via Apple and Carriers)

I definitely remember pile threads "I called _______ and they said if it estimated a launch day delivery when I placed the order it would deliver that day." Some folks this turned out to be true, some not.


Can't wait for peoples order status's to start updating in the next couple of days, who wants to bet the dates will play musical chairs a bit then too.

yeah it is doing the same to me. BUT my delivery date is changed to 9-21. Reserved around 1229PST... Been on hold (occasional d/c on apple side) but this time i've been on hold the longest out of the bunch - so hopefully it will go through
 
You guys need to take a chill pill. Those Chinese kids can only work so fast. I'm sure they're doing everything they can to make you happy.
 
I friggin HATE dealing with this crap every year ... why can't they EVER get this right.

The thing is they don't WANT to get this right. News sites are reporting today that the iPhone 5 sold out in less than an hour. There will be unbelievable lines next Friday. You can not buy that kind of publicity.

Very true. You can't get better publicity then reading the words iPhone and Sold Out.

Whoa whoa, if I could, I would go over there and hand out free hugs to all of them. No one is blaming them... The logistics of this operation are astronomical, what you're seeing is excitement and anticipation boiling over.

Just ended my chat with Apple. The person I talked to was very polite and spent a lot of time trying to look in to the problem.

They acknowledged others are having the same issue and said they are "trying to research the systems to be sure that we provide you with the best solution."

They eventually told me to not complete the order at this time, and to provide my name and phone number so they can contact me back to complete the order by phone. I gave them the information after being reassured, and confirming, that they will contact me today.

In regards to what others with the same issue should do they stated, "we trust that this issue is being resolved since you have brought it to our attention. The best option is to recommend that others contact us so that it can be resolved in the same way."

Hoping it'll be solved with time. Goodnight. :cool:

But, it looks like it's working now.

Getting "9/21 Ship Date" all the way through. Looks like I'll be finalizing my order . . .

I also am getting 9/21 delivery, but when i press the button to make the order, it loops me back to my cart.....
 
Got the email too! Thank goodness. I was annoyed with myself for not just trying again when it said the carrier systems were down.

I thought I was having a similar issue but realized I was pressing "Continue Shopping" instead of "Check Out". haha.

Anyway, check me off too. Got my email confirming 9/21. Can't wait!

hehe I am sure i am doing it right. I upgraded 2 phones perfectly, but this add a line reservation - I get to the processing wheel and it spits me back to the cart.

Thats exactly whats happening to me! I called Apple, they are supposed to email me when it is resolved... they are aware of it.. but when I have the phone in the cart I notice it only sys the familyvoice plan and no data plan..... maybe that is the problem.... in addition when I try to edit it, I get an error.

Do you have a FAN discount?
 
hmmm... i got my order confirmation email at 2:14 AM CST and delivery said sept. 21. would a minute really make that much of a difference?
