Well.. The iBook was simply just an accident. The iMac -- was already dead, and it got a beachball opening Safari, it was useless, my brother didn't even notice until i told him 5 days later :p

I'm actually taking this VERY well, as my precious $1321.75 iBook got smashed because of an angry parent. I could keep this a grudge on her for the rest of her life(i'm not like that) but, i realized, that she really didn't mean to do it (obviously)

So i'm OK as long as there is still an iBook for me and my entire lawn mowing work wasn't wasted.

OH, and i ordered it last night... how come it still says "proccesing order" ?

My other iBook proccesed in 15 minutes (it was on a buisness day -- Tuesday -- the day it got updated.)

We are going to try what CanadaRAM said and talk to our credit card people (she's on the phone now).. and if that doesn't work.. were going to buy a new screen (whole top part) and hook it up so my brother can have a computer.

EDIT: he already figured it out... ;)

I can't even begin to imagine what you and your step-mom argued about to get it to this level. Does she usually have a bad temper?

We were arguing about financial s*it... and after she has a lil bit of wine... WATCH OUT!

Even so, that's still a bit worrisome. Anger management isn't a laughing matter. Whew, I would know.

Sorry about that. At least it sounds like she immediately realized, and apologized for, her error in judgement. Hope you get your new 'Book soon.

I sort of have a story like that, but not nearly as bad. I'm 14 by the way. I had a top of the line cell phone, about 1 month old, and my dad got soo mad that he snapped the flip off. I will admit that I did cry for a while. That was my baby. (before I got my Macs...lol.) But he took me out the next day and bought me a new one. I guess that's not so bad.

Ok, fine, i'll tell you (it's not like he reads these things...)
So, i was talking to my step-mom and we started to argue, I'm NOT going into the argument, but she got really pissed off, (i pushed her to far) and without her thinking, she hit it like 5 times   :(

I'll tell you what. In my eyes child abuse isnt being hit(smack the kids all you want)...child abuse is breaking any childs computer. Leave the computer alone!

Processing order either means it was payed with a debit card and they have to check with the bank, or a credit card that might have a smaller limit. But it is still waiting for funding.

Ok, I understand now.

It's "sent to manufacturing" Thursday by the latest it'll ship.

Your step mother has some serious issues. She absolutely should buy you a new computer, and it's a good thing she is. No matter what words you said that type of behavior is totally inappropriate, especially for a parent.

WOW I can so immagine my mom beating the sh*t out of my computer.... It makes me laugh.. and cry

LOL
you can imagine, but I went thru it!

Man, that's horrible. I was hoping he didn't post the story so I could and change a few things to make it sound worse. :(

But it's good you're getting a new one. I would have called the Police of someone did that to my iBook LOL.

Oh and just think, if you get that one repaired, when your mom gets into iBook abuse mode, you'll have a spare.

Just joking man, good luck with the new iBook. Hey at least the old one works and you can get all your files/apps off, it could have been worse!

Dude that sucks so much about your iBook! But at least you're getting a new one, so really it's all good. The only thing is now you have to play the waiting game AGAIN, and I totally know what that's like. It's horrible... the longest few days of your life!! But then when it gets there, you have the BEST feeling of your life, and it's better than the other few days were long. I think that makes sense, but I'm not sure. :p   :D  :)

I doubt it, not for accidental damage,

Agreed. My cousin has a 2 year old kid who dropped their Powerbook from the kitchen table. It still worked but it would randomly kernel panic for no reason. AppleCare wouldn't touch it.

My gf thought it looked like someone hit the screen, and then as I kept scrolling down, she was right! lol.

It is pretty sweeet that you're practically getting two computers for the price of one (at least for anyway)
If its just the screen than I'd say you're brother or whoever is getting the broken one owes you (or your stepmom) a lot of thanks

Lol, read the rest of the thread, he was careful and he wasn't the one who broke it or could have prevented it really.
