iPhone 12 Pro My honest iPhone 12 pro review, be warned not good at all

5G = Worse than LTE in the UK
DESIGN = beautiful but once in a case looks like any other iPhone
Bezels = bigger as the screen is flat so looks more out dated like the 11 bezels
Camera = isn’t much better and done a lot of testing and I’m a photographer
MagSafe = the biggest gimmick of 2020
Speed = same as the A13 in real use

In my honest opinion coming from someone that used to que up every year for hours just to get the new iPhones each year and still see my self as an apple sheep I’m mega disappointed, I’m waiting for the max but my misses got the pro yesterday and I really think it’s the worst upgrade ever on an iPhone, using it makes it feel like any other iPhone, like I said the design is much nicer but eveyone uses a case so you don’t even see it. The bezels on the 11 pro are nicer because it’s rounded these might say they are smaller but it doesn’t look like it, apple come on this isn’t the apple I love

What was the main reason for upgrading, and were you aware of the new specs ahead of time?

The camera got a spec bump as usual. And 5G is so new it is spotty reception for most people on either side of the pond. That leaves the new physical design.

Im coming from the iPhone 6 so I am sure it will be good for me! I also way prefer the design as it reminds me of my first iPhone - the 4!

yes but because they are flat it doesnt look it the 11 pro are bigger but as they are rounded it does look smaller

Phones have pretty much flatlined in terms of innovation. If you're expecting something that will knock your socks off then prepare to be disappointed. It's now all about refinement. The Max will have a larger camera sensor, but if nothing else about the 12 interests you I'd say your better off just keeping the 11 Pro.

I’m glad you brought up the bezels, Kylo83. I had thought that they looked larger in comparison to the X-11 Pro generation but never vocalized it. Isn’t it funny how somehow the bezels look smaller with the curved sides of the X-11 Pro? When I saw the 12 Pro I thought...the bezels looks like an iPhone 11 and I notice them more. Is this an optical illusion or do the flat sides prevent them from hiding some bezel?

I’m also glad that you reiterated that once the device is in a case, you really can’t tell the difference between the prior Pro generation. With the 12 Pro missing out on Promotion, and the only difference between the 12 and 12 Pro being screen brightness, materials, and some camera features, in a case the iPhone 12 Pro’s materials won’t be noticed (except for the extra weight).

I bought the 12 and have a Z Fold2, so best of consistency with Apple and innovation with Samsung. The iPhone is EXACTLY what I expected.

iPhone 12 is not a must have update for people coming from iPhone X-XS-11.

iPhone is a very mature product and doesn't require yearly upgrades. Wait 2-3 years and your next iPhone will surely impress you with new features.

I love the MacRumors forum but they tend the defend Apple more than I’d like. Perhaps with the exception of the butterfly keyboard but even then when you talk bad about that, the butterfly keyboard defenders come out from under their rocks.

I love, love, love Apple, but we should feel free to call out personal thoughts and/or truths.

Why are you upset? You are an established yearly update. You obviously knew ahead of time what the new features would be. Sounds like you were hoping that the actual specs and warning about 5G would somehow be better than stated. if not, I see no reason to be upset when you knew ahead of time.

if you normally 'queue up every year' then surely you've seen way smaller incremental improvements? 6S to 7? 7 to 8? All fairly ordinary.

Even if they changed nothing technically, simply a design refresh should make you happy.

I have to agree with the op wasn't for 5G and bigger screen estate probably not going to upgrade to the Max this year anyway going to keep my iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max till 2025.
